So I wanted to unload my sled and bring it in the shop so I can start putting it on a diet. Well I went to lift up my sled on the trailer and my foot went through the trailer floor. I didn't get any work done on the sled but the trailer is ready for snow now.

I have wanted to try this for the past three years. I used an old pickup liner for ski runners. I was thinking it was going to look kinda tacky but I think it turned out ok.

What you all think.....Also does anyone have a good idea how to polish up the sides. They look dull I would like to shine it up a bit.

I've used many a truck bed liner from the local second hand store and for 25.00 it is the best liner on the planet. before you put the new plywood on spay it with some weather sealer of your choice very heavy and this will give your trailer a few more years.

Trim the rear edge of the liner...at least a 45 degree angle...otherwise you'll snag a carbide and potentially tear the rear right off the deck.

Cool....good work. My drive on/drive off is set up the same way with the liner. It works good, especially when loading.

Take some aluminum wash and scrub the sides with it first before you throw any polish on it. Wear gloves though, it is a mild acid, eats away at the corrosion and gives you a nice clean surface to polish. I've found a Mother's powerball and some of their aluminum polish works pretty good. JMO

Looks Good, we did the liner trick on a buddies trailer, works good. Are you gonna paint the deck or seal it with anything?

Nice work. Box liners are top shelf for bed preservation. All I've ever used....... and when some "Dork" with his enclosed 6 place trailer comes over and tells you the runners look like Chit.....well lets just say they make a nice conversation piece too.;) Looks exactly like my trailer, how does that protector at the front work? I want to put something like that on mine but being a tilt it will put too much weight on the nose and won't stay up for loading. May have to put a hydraulic shock underneath I guess. Good work :beer;

Thanks. We built the salt guard. Its actually Diamond plate. Keeps the sled nice and clean on the roads that are slush. If you have two people loading it is easy. When I'm by myself what I do is I have a 2x2 I cut that will hold the front up and when my sled gets on it falls out and then comes down.
