Hunting Rifle for an 11 year old

I own a Browning BLR Lightning in 7mm Rem Mag. Probably the most comfortable gun I have ever owned, typical browning, outstanding fit and finish, great shooting, and I have ALWAYS been a fan of the lever guns. The only issue you may find has already been mentioned, the stock length, those Browning walnut stocks are NOT cheap! But, again, I would probably say it's worth it just because of the experience I've had with my BLR!

Ps.. I grew up with a .243, killed many of elk, deer, anything, I was always taught that with the proper shot placement, you should kill an elephant with a pellet gun, so the .243 always worked great for me, although a little bit more bullet weight couldn't hurt either! haha!

Lots of different guns that would work well, but it really comes down to what kind of 11 year olds you'll be hunting.
Many of them nowadays are fat & slow, hell a club would work on them!

Jeezus christ................finally stopped laughing long enough to write this! Funny as hell and pretty much true!

We bought a youth remington 700 .243 a few years ago, put a leupold 3x9 on it, :face-icon-small-coo what a great gun, fits him good and he can shoot it good. Got a deer the last two years. I think it is extremely important that it not to big and they practice with it. It's a great investment.

My 12y old has a .22/250, blah, blah, blah, shot placement is the key. A louder report and heavier recoil might be fun but a great shot is all it takes.
