How to remove a skunk?

Any good ideas on how to remove a skunk in an area that you can't just shoot it? Grandparents have one at the their place which is not a place a person can just pull out a gun and shoot it. Their dog got sprayed with it yesterday so now it's a problem I have to deal with.

Do any of the chemicals you can put out work to make them leave? I'm going to head up tonight to see where it is at on the property.

have done several of them~ live trap it~ then carefully cover the trap so it's in the dark~ pick it up and do what ever~ never had one spray doing it that way~ but there are parts to be very careful of in this process~ i'm sure you can figure those out~

live trap, 8x8' piece of black plastic. hold the plastic up in front of you and walk up to the trap and place it over the trap and skunk. walk trap over to canal and hold under water for 5 min.

If you do that, make sure there aren't any buildings for them to crawl under! My friend used poison and cat food. The skunks promptly crawled under his office and died

While this would be the normal method of removal......

My grandma has asked me to be more "PC" because of the neighbors closeness to their location and the fact that the lady next door is as liberal as they come. She even had an issue with our water balloon launcher last summer.

Anyway. I went up there last night and searched around but found no skunk or trace of it. Maybe after the run in with the dog last weekend it ran away.

normal would be 50# of farm fertilizer~ a little diesel and a half pound of tannerite!! the lite up the tannerite from about a hundred yds~ oh ya~ and don't forget the beer!!

Get your scraps together and put them under neighbors.. leave a little trail...heck leave their car door open...doggy door

This right here is the best way to rid it without shooting it.

Seems weird that it won't spray while you're getting the live trap covered, but as long as the tarp is in front of you, they won't.

Well since this came back up....... The skunk did come back and my cousin and I handled the situation as we saw fit. All I can say is that some new technology (read accessory) was available to us when it came back that we did not have before which made night time extraction possible without waking the neighbors.
