How much would you pay for Tabs? Poll

Our $$ doesn't go very far anymore (Grooming,Plowing)

I would hate to see our season end too soon (especially during a heavy snow year) I like the idea of a expensive sno-park permit (motorized users only) to help cover the rising costs of Plowing/Grooming

What do you all think?
:moon:

we should make all the ski resorts that do not require a snowpark permit, have one to park in there lots. I also believe the non-motorized should pay the same as I pay for the snow park. They use the same snowparks is I do.

I have no problem paying for more as long as they do what we pay for. It seem's to get worse every year and they quit grooming and plowing two month's before the season end's.

Seems to me we raised our tab fees a couple of years ago and they promised it would go to more grooming.

Where the he!! is the more grooming?? The season is 12/1 to 3/30 for grooming. Ya right. It seems like the stop grooming sooner each year and start later. They do not even give us what they promised originally.

What is up with the excuse of the groomer is broken??

I might go for this contract next year--groom about 5 times and say my groomer is broken;).

and 100$ for a snow park permit? is that for 1,2,3,4 or how many. I have 3 different rigs I use--I am not given $300 for snow park permit's for my rigs.

With all the gas taxes we pay in this state--they (state) could cough up 1/2 cent per gallon and we would have all the grooming and plowing we would ever need.

He!! tabs are only suppose to be $ 30 for a vehicle with a title!! Of course our state has figured how to get around that as well--charge tonnage or by weight of your vehicle.

I get PO'd about this crap---always want more money from us and we get nothing they promise us in return.

Grooming was better back in the 80's when we paid squat for tabs--the tabs are about tripple what they were then---so welcome to the cost of living Washington state--A Full PROFIT ORGINAZATION!!

Just another way to empty our pockets.

Sorry--but that is the way I feel--always want more money:mad:

I agree with the waterboy with no ski. The money will not be directed correctly so why pay more for nothing! Sled tags used to be $17 forever then after the $30 car tab deal they jacked everything else up and made some interesting "special fees" such as $4.00 for reflector plate fee:confused: and $20 replacement plate fee since your reflector plates are worn out:confused: and even more creative weight fees.
Moonie are you helping the Gov. Greggy collect more funds to be diverted???

Wa ORV tags?

If we were some minority group we would be taken care of without any questions asked! Maybe we should spend another million or so to change the Wa. state logo! Until the people in Olympia start listening to the voters, I am not in favor of any raises in fees. Our state government is so corrupt. Maybe we could fire one person that doesn't do sh!t, and spend their six digit salary on the people, or some of these budget shortfalls. There is the money for us, it has just been ROBBED to fund some government program that only benifits some small group of minorities. How about all of them skatboard parks around our area? Who paid for them? Ya, I feel we need places for kids to get outside and have a safe place to play. But, how many on here ever use one of these places? I don't want to ***** any more than I just did. have a good weekend and get outside to play! -2zeros

Interesting comments folks. You are going to hear more about this in the days to come than you have in quite a while. There is opportunity to be informed here for those who want to know the facts. The WSSA convention is coming up Feb. 15-18 in Cle Elum; this will likely be one of the heavily discussed topics. The groomer advisory council is having an emergency meeting soon. Get involved with an accredited organization, get the facts and be a part of the solution because you can make a difference when you work together.

How about if in the grooming contract the groomer provides a person to collect a daily fee from riders in the form of a booth set up at the trailhead of baker. Ten bucks for the day or 50 or 75 for a yearly pass. Just like they do at revy. I dont know what the right answer is but there has to be a good way to off set the almost 2 dollars additional price per gallon for fuel.

$35 + $100 sounds great. Just make sure that the click clicks have to pay to use the parking as well!

Rob.

I have to say I agree with most of the above comments…
I would pay upwards of $100.00 per sled for some awesome grooming however in our wonderful state of Washington ( full of Democrat greenies ) that money probably would not make it were it is supposed to go. It obviously cost a lot more to run this program than it did 10-20 years ago and it takes more grooming today to keep the trails flat, my mod sled with it’s 162 does a lot more damage to a groomed trail than my 82 SS440 did. Most of us have 20-30+k wrapped up in our hobby, running out of grooming funds doesnt make sense.

Dear Governor Gregoire could you help us with our grooming problem?
Yea like thats going to happen. Maybe Dino can help us.

Very well put 0SKE,
I will not vote for higher taxes in this state or pay more to this corrupt government until they become fiscally responsible with the budget they have.

I wonder how well it would go over for any private citizen of this liberal state if they promised to do a job for their boss for $1.000.000 budget then piss that money away on a house on Maui then tell their boss they need more $$$ to complete the job they never started.
That's what our corrupt state officials do every day.
Piss the money away and claim that they ran out of the money that was earmarked for the project then try to jam another tax down our throats.

What ever happened to the "Fact" that if they did not fix the Viaduct immediately it would crumble to the ground within months?
It seems to be less important now that the tax didn't go thru. I mean they never even talkabout it any more.

I say bring in the Feds and audit this entire state budget and our politicians, not just the port. They're all criminals.

Ok, rant over. I guess I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning!

Oh, and another thing...

Re-elect Governor Rossi :D

35 + 100 Sounds best to me. Of course it would be great to have the State do the job without increasing our fees but I just don't think it will happen. Having the snowpark fee added on makes more sense than adding to the registration per sled as many of us have backup sleds that get little use.

I'd go for the 35+100(3 vehicles), but I'd rather see a pay for use system, like trail fees. You don't cross the line to go up the trail without giving your share, do matter if you are on sleds or snow shoes. then audit the group every 2 years and if there were any number of groomings short of the 100 or so a year, then take money from them. so if the groomer is down, you lose money, just like the rest of us, you don't work, you don't get paid.

If the clubs or groups that did the grooming/plowing got the money directly, the operating cost would go down and no one in the state could divert it to some other cause.

$100 for a snow park permit? You guys are smoking crack! I think the ammount I pay for my 6 sleds is good enough. How about they fire the little ticket giving cop wannabies and use their salary to pay for the grooming and snow park clearing. How much of OUR money goes to the enforcement dorks?

This is a scam! Wake up!!!!

Sno-park plow money is now gone for the I-90 stretch. Yep, that is what I have been told.

Why? Lots of snow and maybe some bad management of funds. Who knows for sure, but this year we will all see the affects.

There is a mtg today in Woodland where this issue will be dicussed in depth. The only good outcome for this year would be an emergency amount of funds tranferred into the sno-park plowing fund to keep our sno-parks plowed.

Call KIG 5, I'm sure they would pick up the story. This is BS!!!!!!!!!!!!

In Washington state the groomer is only paid for the time they put on the snow, so if they are broke down they are not getting paid. At least that is the way it is with the private contactors.
