How many torn/ripped Axys tracks this year?

Mine hasn't torn or ripped but it has some odd wear on the bottom where it rubs the hifax. I think this is a coming trend. Manufacturers are making huge weight savings with tracks. Polaris did it this year and Doo is doing it next year. The tracks can only get so light/thin before they start to fall apart.

Track

Mine has the deep wear from the hifax as well. I'm pretty
nervous about it letting go on me under boost. Also
have a broken lug, but that's to be expected riding the trees.

I've got wear just outside the metal tabs under the hifax on one side. Took it to the dealer and they said they haven't seen it before. They're submitting a warranty claim. My track is offset in the front of the tunnel to the point that it is just rubbing on the wear side. They better cover it, looks like the drivers were not centered on the driveshaft properly.

couple cuts from rocks due to early nov riding. Have seen several tracks with some odd wear on the drive lugs. Eric

Mine has significant goofy grooved wear on the inside of the unclipped lugs as well. (Interior of the track)
...the tear goes both inward and outward from a clipped window. The good news is the safety wire fix held all day today. This is the first track I have ever ripped or torn, the occasional lug getting damaged I expect and consider normal. Not a dozen though boooondockin
2.6 Durability? Not feeling the love Polarry.

I agree. I have a dozen or more as well with 1000 miles on the sled. Track hooks up good but I'm looking in to something different just for durability sake

2 out of the 5 in our riding group has the unusual wear also on the unclipped portion of our tracks out side of the hifax both sides- 980 miles on these sleds no missing lugs.

Any body report this wear to their dealers?
( No Missing Lugs) cause they wont waste their time if it does.

Does the 2.4 inch track have the rubber guides both on the inside and outside of the hifax? I believe the 2.6 inch does not. this may be part of it, the track could be sliding around under the hifax without the little rubber centering guides.

also curious if anyone knows, is the 2.4 inch fully clipped. i am snow checking a sks and will be doing some trail riding with this sled. i need the durability and am leaning toward the 2.4 inch track.

2 partially torn lugs with plenty of slices on my 1st track in 350 miles, and 2 partially torn lugs with a lot less slices on my 2nd warranty track (due to a shock issue) in the next 500 miles. Both tracks had wear in line with the track clips on the unclipped "bars". As much as the durability sucks compared to the 2.4 I really love the track, not to mention it's SUPER light. Rotating weight is huge, when the time comes I will probably dump the change into another 2.6 orrrr just order a new sled :)

I know my dealer is trying to make a claim to Polaris for someone else. Not sure where it is going. I haven't heard of any falling apart, just bad wear.

Mine failed at 1500 miles. Not one damaged or missing lug on the whole thing. Tear was a straight line right behind a paddle. Good luck with warranty I haven't heard of anyone getting it yet. I also had the wear on the unclipped holes.

For what it's worth I rode the 2.4 for a couple weeks and it is a HUGE step back in performance except in deep dry snow.

2500 miles on my 3". 2100 on my wife's 3". Both tracks had all lugs intact.

I think I've figured out the wear on the unclipped windows. The span between the back of the hyfax and the rear wheels allows the track to flex up into the span and the 45 degree angle on end of the hyfax is cutting into the track. Next year I'm going to radius that angle (lengthwise and across) before the sled gets on snow. We'll see how it goes.

Like how many feet difference on a hill would there be between a 2.6 and 2.4?

Mine and all the 2.6's in my group have held up well on the wear and tear of lugs and track. We have all ridden varied conditions from CO to Gaspe QC. However, like others have said, all our track have unusual wear on the unclipped section of the track. The grooves are pretty deep now too. It looks to me as if the rails are a little short ad the the wear is occurring upon exit of the rail before entering the rear wheel but who knows...it is weird though. Also, I would think the clips would on the section with the outside lug.

Hard to say as I ran the 2.4 while I was looking for a used 2.6 (which took forever) so never really did go "head to head". In this spring snow the 2.4 just spins like crazy and goes nowhere. Made the sled feel slow and unresponsive. I would not recommend anyone to run the 2.4.
