I think this really typifies many people's reproach to how poorly administered and managed our Government is. This article deals with the highlights of the Government's decisions in response to the President mandate to reduce spending by $100M.

I guess I shouldnt be surprised really. I mean its Government right. Some of the cost reductions are probably pretty solid. The Air Force using commercially available fuel in lieu of their special blend. Thats good and required some thought- some testing perhaps, some buy-in as it could affect safety of flight. But some of them really illustrate what happens when you are spending other people's money. Especially in the office/administrative environments. How many private businesses out there do you think have eliminated many of these "new" ideas the Government just discovered, but they did it years and years ago. Simply astounding the simplicity of some of them. I wonder if they really had to change their thinking what they would really do....
