Put my deposit down on a khaos 165 9R, ive always had 155s, but i wanted a little bit more track, but now im kinda regretting it. Coming off a 21 khaos 155. How is everone liking the 165? I know alot of you said the suspension was stiffer than previous khaos sleds?

Agreed! The best sled i have owned to date!
I ended up shortening the limiter strap 1" to keep it more planted in the deep powder, and that works like a champ!
The 165 x 2.75" is the perfect track, for grip and flotation - super happy!!!

Nice. I see we have another person that might have suffered from LSD Flashbacks or actually knows how to read and react to a sleds output and can make it work much better.

The shorter limiter on a Khaos and Vice versa on a Pro is exactly the perfect balance for each model. But that requires using a brain, labor, or at the least, having your dealer do it. Something more than woke crying on a forum about boat anchors.

It really makes the Khaos the sled to beat and tames the 155 down on the steep stuff to a perfect balance.

Or just tighten the rts and loosen the fts and avoid messing with the limiter

I had a 2021 165 Khaos 2.75 and then a 2022. I am going to 2023 165 pro Boost.

The Khaos is a good sled but still not the best tool for the job, all around, in my opinion. It lacks control and is a little too wild. Even with making plenty of suspension adjustments and more seat time I found myself wishing I had a Pro.

It can do well in the deep stuff and fun in the trees. But getting back on my buddies 850 pro I felt more comfortable and in control. As well, I could just as easily bring the sled over backward, and hop overs were more controlled.

I believe the 165 pro boost will be the best all-around sled for me at the elevation I ride and my style.

165 is a little more forgiving and I think getting a 9r in a 165 will be a great sled. However, all these claims of it having so much more power I think is really an overhype. I have ridden plenty of 900s and would take a turbo all day long for even the technical tree and drainage riding.

For what it's worth I am brand new to the sport and my first sled is a 2022 Khaos Matryx Slash 165. I have rode other sleds, but nothing super serious since they weren't mine. I was in McCall last week and rode my buddies Khaos converted 155 slash doing the same stuff right after I got my sled (got it while I was down there). The 155 felt tamer climbing, not sure how he has his setup, but it wasn't uncontrollable or anything, honestly felt like the 165 with his setup, the big difference being the 165 climbed better. From the very start it hooked up better and pulled to the top faster, which is to be expected. But I really felt no difference other than the 155 seemingly being a little easier to handle just because it wasn't pulling as hard. Mine does have full Ibexx clutching minus the cover. I was worried about going with a 165, I figured it was going to be kind of a boat. I am kind of weight sensitive, I'm tall at just under 6'5", but I'm only 180lbs without gear so things tend to toss me around a bit, but this sled was amazing. I am actually extremely happy with my purchase. I think having the extra track is helping me get traction and learn easier and it really feels no different from my buddies 155 other than it takes a little more to get that front end way up on mine. I don't think I could have picked a better sled to learn on. Not super planted so its a bit playful, but not overly playful to where I am out of control and it has been powering me through alot, though I am also not afraid to grab every bit of throttle it has haha. I don't think you will regret it, but I have little comparison to 155 so take what I say with a grain of salt lol.

Shortening the limiter strap pulls the front of the skid up into the tunnel a bit. (I suppose that changes the approach angle a bit too)

It also "limits" the length of travel at the front of the skid, which keeps the front end more planted.

Just tightening the Rear Track Shock and loosening the Front Track Shock, is not the same.

I also went to the 210# spring on the RTS. Another little piece of better, IMO.

I’ve ridden my 155 Khaos slash with both track shock adjustments. At no point does it feel like it needs a shorter limiter to stay in control. Those adjustments radically change the sled to the point where it felt very similar to the matryx pro we had with us, if that’s what you are going for

I’m 140 without gear and I’ve been super Happy with my 22 Khaos 165. I can make it be playful when I want and hold a line in tight technical trees when I need it too. The 165 allows me time to think and ride slow when needed. I would definitely like to try a 155 but I’m not going to put all my eggs in that basket as in the past the 155 has not been ideal for me.

Haha. Objectivity is gone. Jack up my suspension instead to create balance, it’s perfect. Maybe it’s LSD flashbacks that are causing my cheekbones to ache when I read this forum? Beavis’ comment about people nailed it.

Like it. 165 Khaos is closer to a 165 pro with lighter steering than it is to a 155 Khaos. If you do re-entries for the gram all day, a 165 Khaos is the wrong sled. Otherwise I can’t see being disappointed in it for mtn riding. Factory suspension settings this year weren’t great…definitely needed some user tweaking….there’s a huge thread on it not too far back

^^^ this plus easier to tip up. Less planted. I think everybody is missing the boat because they see kaos and think completely out of hand. That is the farthest thing from the truth on the 165 kaos. It is just a lighter feeling easier riding pro
Agreed…with the amount of adjustability, and the 165 track length I would buy the Khaos every time. Can’t think of a circumstance where I wouldn’t …unless you want it to steer better with the skis on the trail/hard pack I guess? That ship sailed on Polaris’ years ago anyways.

i have a 165. I let out my limiter strap MORE (1/2 inch), i have my front shock pretty stiff, rear shock pretty loose, and it will get a lil wild doing straight climbs if i am running over any old tracks. fresh snow not to much, gotta ride up further on the running boards but nothing crazy. doing wheelies over little to medium bumps on the trail and stuff is fun. also lets me get skis over logs and stuff.

i dont think some of the stuff i did today i could do with a 155. maybe, but the way youtube says so with brett and all the other pro duder tubers the 155 is supposed to be a LOT wilder.
