how do you you 1000 boys feel about your sled?

Got the 06 in May 06. Put a can on it to loose a little weight and allow more air to flow through the engine compartment. Made the mistake of getting the 151, stretched it to 162. Geared down 15% by swapping the drivers from 10's to 9's and the gearing from 21/49(13W) to 21/51(15W) - 86 link chain fits quite snug - nearly zero slack for the tensioner.

No doubt RT is a heavy sled - but it's got some nice torque. Had a 04 Rev 800/144. The Rev was nicer for smaller hills and trees (Snoqualmie Pass) - the RT is way better for open mountain riding like Mt Baker or Bear Paw

Will keep this RT another year and then will go to something lighter - 800 Doo/Poo/Cat or maybe XP1000 if Doo does it.

not just to throw a bad coment out there, but my buddy a couple weeks back in Valemount blew his up on our last day heading back to the truck.
Just a big puff of smoke and powered out to an idle and died.
lost its coolant somewhere in the engine. pulled the head off and it looked like antifreeze got in the one piston due to the milky sludge on top, but when pulling on the clutch it almost sounds like a bearring went by the grinding. cylinder walls aren't scored either. It's a 2005 rt 162, with no mods but a can.

If you get one, get a 162, as the 151 is too short, and it will dig a grave like no other.

This statement is not true...I have an 05 RT 1000 and it was a 151...I shortened the track to a 144 and I have a camo lite...which most call a trencher lite...

and last weekend we were in about 3-4 feet of fresh and I out rode and climbed the 07 800r 151 that my buddy rented....

I do have clutching done and about 60lbs off the beast and the rental was stock...but it still could not compete with the 144 1000....

I love the RT...Im sore after every ride even if it is my tenth in a row..After riding my RT I will never own an 800...I have rode an 800 as well...

I love my 1000! I have yet to have another stock sled with a rider the same riding ability hand it to me. The sled is reliable for the most part my motor did go out on mine but that just happens sometimes. The only mods I have done are the 07 programming and a SLP can. The sled rides down the trail like a caddy and climbs and boondocks like a sled should. The only down fall is when its stuck it is a b!#$% to get out. In the spring the sled is animal. My body feels it when I been riding hard all day but it is worth the power and handling. The only reason I am selling mine is because I want a new one.

Get your rpms up to 8000 on your tach and your shorts will tighten up dramatically when you press the love dipper.

finally got out to ride yesterday afternoon. adjusted the clickers to get me up to 8grand it was sweet, i got stuck 2 good times, not so sweet, i had to rely on a really nice m10 153 to get me out, that boys sled is really nice and hes a damn good rider to boot. i cant believe the track speed this thing gets up to on the powder. still need clutching as its along way from where it needs to be, but i can deal with slow shifting for now, as its still faster than most of the 8's that were out there yesterday.
thanks for the input guys.

Just sold my 1000 after blowing it up twice. Second time was dealers fault and they ended up putting a brand new short block for nothing. I sold it because this was the second season in a row it was down. When it ran it ran strong but I just didn't trust it anymore. I just bought a XP 800 and so far it is like nothing I have rode before. I am burning belts but as long as they are warrantying them I am not worried. At $105 a belt I bet Ski Doo will figure it out. Going to Jackson Hole this weekend heard the snow was great and the beer is cold.:beer;:D

Heard a cat broke its skirt,,, did he rent an XP the the rest of the trip?

Yep, that pos M7 tied to my bumper and an XP infront of me to get it out:eek:. I think Gerry broke a skirt under his bibs and for sure on the PTO side of the 700. Kinda kicked the shat outta my good belt as well, oh well:(. Not sure if he did as I rode with Chris the next day in Pokey.

Yes I still love my 1000 beast, you doo notice it at the end of a day riding agressively, but hey thats one less day you have to spend in the gym :D!!!

Bankbuster, I told ya I would lead them into the deeep :beer; nothin but carnage.
