I don't know about Wyoming, but up here in North Dakota you see alot of the new toys being bought by mom & dads oil money. My brother in law works at a snowmobile- marine dealer and lots of young guys are buying toys with the new oil money their families have. Mineral rights + oil wells=new toys for all the kids

I have often wondered that too. I have (what I consider) a decent paying job to boot and don't have all the latest and greatest stuff like some of these guys do. I suppose what the difference is, is in my philosophy on things... I will NOT finance a toy and prefer to buy everything I can with CASH... meaning that I work for almost all of my stuff BEFORE I buy it. Looking for deals is also high on my list, look for something that needs a little tlc or someone that doesn't want an arm for something. Often times it takes longer to find what I want, but I might just save some money in the process... Once it's cleaned up, it LOOKS like it's worth a lot more than what I had to pay.

DIDO Fordguy....I find I appreciate things way more after I have saved for it and have to part with the cash. Work hard, play harder and spend wisely. Believe it or not, a little bit if research will save you tens of thousands over your lifetime.

I just hate watching the banks, credit card companies and loan officers make interest on my money...burns my azz !!! I give enough of it away to the government as it is.

One of the things I laugh most at are the guys that spend big dollars on tools for their personal use. Dont get me wrong, to each their own, but I havent paid full price for a tool in my life. Always buy on sale and they all have lifetime warranty....no need to have a million dollars worth of Snap On laying around !!! Buy a tool or two every payday...dont take long to accumulate everything you need, then put the savings in your gas tank !!!

Depends on the person.

I work for a ski shop. When I was in college I started there as a part time job. As a college kid I would get a new pair of skis every year. I would buy them cheap, and sell them to buy the new stuff.

After working hard for 3 years part time, I was offered a manager position. I now ski 80+ days a year, and have at least 2 brand new $1k+ ski setups a year. Everyone at the mtn. thinks I have the greatest and easiest job in the world, but they dont see me working 70+ hours a week or all the off season work I put in, or my lawn business I also have.

I couldn't agree more. When I was 14 I'd managed to turn my $1000 life savings into $5,000 through the stock market so when I turned 16 I traded my investments to my parents for the money in cash. From there I found a great sled from a guy on here who raced with it and gave it a couple of scratches n such and bought it. It had 300 miles at the time and now I've got about 2,500 and its never missed a beat! Sure it has some dings and scratches but you'd never know it watching me ride!

The easiest way to explain it is, most of them and I said most are in debt so far up to their butts they will not see daylight for a long time. Nobody at 21 makes enough money per year to pay cash for a 60k truck a 12k sled a 10k enclosed trlr and that is the winter stuff. These kids also have dirt bikes boats 4 wheelers and what not. Most of this stuff gets traded in as the seasons change, for a loss. When I was 20 I borrowed money for a washer and dryer because I was tired of going to the laundramat. Priorities are different these days.

I guess I have gotten into the habit of paying cash for everything cuz that is the only option available on some products I purchase.

There are lots of people in debt up to their eyeballs, but lots of the people you see use their badass truck for hauling construction, farming or logging equipment in the 'off' season. Many people snowmobile as their primary hobby because they work 7 days a week when the weather is good and save enough money to have fun in the winter.

whats wrong with family

Is it so bad to work and share wealth and toys with family? I Work together with my family every day. Parents help me and my siblings and we all try to help build a multi generation business. Is it such a bad thing to have some nice toys and rigs. Your not writing the check so don't hate or judge. Life is what you make it. Its not a bad thing to take it when you can. Might not have a chance again.
