How did you like your Motorfist gear?

They had their own booth last year?

They are not going to have their own booth.. They will be there supporting their dealers....

We will be there with some MF product.. We are offering nice discounts.. stop in by and visit..

Kelsey

Did i read this right? MF and RKT will be at the Denver sno show??

Motorfist:

I did wear MF bibs last year, and durable they are!
Never had a issue w/ being cold or wet. They still look new.
If they make a glove, I'd buy it, too!

I am getting rekon pants.
I'm tired of having a soaked saddle when I get back to the truck. I hope this is the ticket.

Anyone know about the mid layers? I am interested in the fleece.
Not sure WHICH model to choose.

Scott, go with the hydrophobic bottom layer. The turnagain fleece is alot heavier than the hydrophobic and you will probably overheat with the turnagain fleece. Both are very nice products.

Powderpatrol. Motorfist has 3 different styles of gloves to choose from this year. A light weight, mid weight & a heavy weight. All 3 are very nice. The mid weight will be my choice for the year.

I was leaning that way....
I get hot easily.

Anyone know what happened to there warranty? It was 106 years / six feet under..... now it's a "blue bird warranty"

Please tell me they are not pulling a KLIM already.... I was going to order a 2010 recon from there site until I noticed that they changed there warranty and there is no desciption other then they offer a loaner while your stuff is getting fixed.

Well I did indeed do just that and .... Yes they did change there warranty. Not sure what to think of it, it's all to much like the what klim has done. Get the customers to come to you with a great warranty then change things up. Here is what they said in two Emails:

Thanks for taking the time to contact me and getting to the bottom of this. We did change our warranty policy. However, we feel it is a better deal for the consumer. We will ALWAYS take care of our customers! Under the the Blue Bird Warranty we will repair or replace any warranty problem along with fix any repairs for you. Even if you need something fixed that was self inflicted and not covered under warranty we will repair it for a small fee. The great thing about the blue bird is while we are fixing your item we will send you a loaner of the same item to use while we get the issue fixed. We do not want you to miss out on one ride while your item is getting fixed. We take our Customer Service very seriously and will never NOT help you with any issue with our products.

I thought that was kinda vague as to the terms of the warranty so I asked them to help me understand the terms of this new great warranty. If you bought thinking this warranty was going cover you so this would be the last gear you bought... well not exactly.

I understand your concern. We want you to be happy with your purchase as well. It is a 5 year warranty program on all outerwear and a 1 year warranty on gloves and layering pieces. Please feel free to ask any questions. I am glad to help

Now maybe this is not a bad thing but from 106years / six feet under to 5 years , and one year on gloves and everything else... I just want a pair of gloves that will make it a couple seasons. I don't like that they changed it up... how many customers were notified?

Ya no kidding... what ever happened to making things last? I have 50 year old fridge in the garage that works great... but have to put a new one in the kitchen every three to four years cause they die the day the warranty is up.

Other than the loaner program this does not sound any differant then Klims warranty. They decide weather it's a craftsman ship issue or not and if it's not then you get charged to repair it... If they take the high road and fix the real claims and the "on the fence" ones too just to keep people happy then this is not an issue at all.

This peaves me, I got on there the other day to order there Rekon Jacket. Now I'm really on the fence because I can buy other name brand gear for the same kind of money... infact the Klim I was looking at is Cheaper ( wow never thought I would say that ) and I know what to expect from there product.

Just bummed, maybe I'll stick out this season with what I got and see if guys have a good results with motorfist's warranty.

The MotorFist warranty is straight up 5 years on the gear. Klim offer 3-6 but they determine how much you have used and abused so you might only get 3.

If you burn you gear reaching for the hotdogger (that's me) I would expect that i would be covering that. The 5 years is on the craftmanship. AKA, stiching, waterproofness, ect

The key here is the LOANER. While your stuff is getting fixed MotorFist will send you NEW gear to ride in till your gear gets back to you! Whether its MotorFist's fault our yours (the damn hotdogger). That is a HUGE difference with this loaner idea.

Nothing is worse that having a zipper fail and having a big ride coming up around the corner. MotorFist will set you up with new gear while the zipper is getting fixed. you never loose a "bluebird day" with the loaner program.....

The term itself is stated longer than anybody out there. Craftsmanship is garunteed for 5 years.

I'm glad I waited a year to by their gear. Initially I was very excited about a new product line, but I knew there was no way they could support a 106 year guarantee. Now it seems that they are changing the rules already. but they are the ones that put it out there... and now they're taking it back. Don't get me wrong here, I don't think any gear should be expected to last even 10 years of hard use, let alone 100 years without some kind of problems. But that's what all the advertising would have you believe. I'm not surprised at all that they changed their warranty, but I am VERY surprised it happened so quickly. They've only been selling gear for a year!!! Say what you want about KLIM, but I don't see how this is any better. I've never seen or touched the Motorfist gear and I'm sure it's well built, but they're the ones that created this 106 year warranty... and promptly took it away. I'm just wondering how long it will be until there are threads on Motorfist that look just like the ones we see about KLIM all the time.

BTW, I just looked at the warranty on their site, and it doesn't use the word "NEW" anywhere when saying they'll give you loaner gear while they repair your stuff. Maybe I'm picking nits here, but it is what it is. Buyer beware.

Rant over

All of the current manufacturers are making good products, each has their issues, but all in all, they have good products. Lets hope they all succeed...competition breeds better products and more choices for us!!!

I'm gonna buy some new bibs, gotta be waterproof and warm! 12 hrs out in the cold is no joke up here in AK, the wind chill is killer as well out here near the coast. And I ride from my doorstep, 150miles/day is the norm.

Awwwww..... poor guy has to ride from his doorstep! :face-icon-small-ton

I am gonna try their product out this year...... Had Klim last year (still do) so it will be a good chance to do a direct comparison. Just need some snow and I will get back to you.... :)

Last years gear is still warranties for 106. Get it while you can. It like a 70' chevelle...it only happened once. Minus the 454 and posi...

And yes you get a new piece for riding in on the loaner.

I take back what I said then... I'm glad to hear that they are still going to honor the 106/6 ft under for last seasons gear! All I ask is that manufacturers stand by their word and it sounds like they will after all. I thought Motorfist had decided to change the warranty on all those that purchased last years gear with the old warranty. I've got no problem with them changing things as they go. Like I said, i don't think the 106 yr thing was sustainable. At least not without losing money in the long run. Those are lucky folks that are getting in under the old warranty!

Also glad to hear it's new gear for the loaner stuff. Maybe I'll try a jacket this year after all. You're right, competition is good for all of us.

It snowed last night in the horns. Nice to see a little white on top for a change.
