How big of a tree will skiers run over?

We always rate the trees by HP.

"Man, that was at least a 300HP tree"

Anything green and under 2" dia is traction. 2" dia and a dead snag is typically something broken.

Over 2" you better hit is square.

Over 3" damage.

Could you imagine the feedback that a bunch of sledders would have gotten to a video like this. I have seen guys post up videos where they clip the tops of a few trees in an overgrown clear-cut and take a beating.

But considering it's a bunch of skiers/granolas it's ok.

twelve years old,
twas a brisk winter morning at buena vista ski resort in the state of ten thousand lakes. a friend and myself found ourselves on a two ski wide trail at a difficulty level far beyond our ability. this friend, breaking trail, fell into a fluffy pillow of snow on the uphill side of trail-this guy got his a$$ kicked. not far behind in our decent i had no choice but to fall into the only clearing between a safe landing and a ski in my buddies butt cheeks. suddenly, out of nowhere, a man of olympic abilities came flying down the trail-this guy got his a$$ kicked. not seeing us until it was to late he was forced to bail of the ski packed trail-this dude got his a$$ kicked, being thrown sideways he broke a frozen 4" tree in half with his rib cage. 3 broken ribs and alot of bruising. biggest tree i've seen taken out by a skier.:boxing::face-icon-small-dis
