How bad will Lesnar beat Mir?

Not to highjack the thread - but Mir vs. Lesnar isn't the main event. Tim Sylvia Vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is the main event

This may be so,
but I bet no 2nd billing has ever drawn this much interest.

i don't no about it not having top billing. i know silvia/nogueira(sp) is a "title" fight, but even the UFC is really pushing lesnar. all the promos have been about him, so i would say that even though not a title match, it's still the main draw of the card

If it is indeed the main event, that can't sit well with alot of the UFC stars, no?

I think Sean Shirk was convicted of something...that's what the previews before the BJ Penn fight said.

Randy wanted Fedor. Dana wouldn't sign it...so Randy left.

Nogiera will crush Silvia.

Not as well documented as Bill Goldberg suggested. Sherk tested positive for steriods. Randy's situation is now way more complacted now that he is being sued by the UFC - but he says he resigned from the UFC. The UFC says he retired.

It seems the UFC wants mainstream media coverage like the NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL but wants to run their business like the WWF - keeping all the information secret. Fans will accept the fighters made a mistake - look at Jason Giambi.

I don't know. Sylvia hits hard and Nogueira doens't have the best wrestling. Should be an intersting fight.

I don't think it does. He's got one professional fight and some of these guys have been working a long time to make it this far. Sylvia and Nogueira have 62 fights combined. Speaking as a fan who has followed the sport from the beginning I am bothered by it. It is clearly a good business decision for the UFC. Hardcore fans know the fighters and don't need the hype. Casual and sports entertainent fans are the target market. It seems to be working!

I'm just picking up a freak shown vibe from this with all the WWF footage cut into the promo videos. I'm past the what would win Karate vs. Kung Fu stage - which is how this feels to me. Maybe if Lesnar dropped the WWF heel persona I wouldn't be so hostile towards him. I'm clearly pulling for Mir.

That "heel persona" & trash talk does sell PPV's though.
Heck, he is likely instructed to act this way for the sales draw.

Nogiera will have a hard time in the cage after so many Pride fights..BUT he was the Pride champ before Fedor.

maybe not the best "wrestling", but superior world class jui jitsu, which we know silvia doesn't have a lick of. should still be a good fight. never really liked silvia much, so i'm going for nogueira

Jiu-Jistu is hard to apply when you can't take you opponent down. But if Nog does take Timmeh down then he'll be in for a rough ride. You are definately right about Nogueria's pedigree on the mat.

You called this one spot-on...Silvia was working him over until things went to the ground.

A guy I was watching it with said it best, "Silvia was kicking his a$$ right up until he tapped out".

Wow, beatiful sweep and ground work. I thought Sylvia would keep it standing all night and grind him out. Oh well at least I got the Mir fight right. :p

Quite a few naysayers out there, but I predict Brock will go through Mir like crap through a goose.

lesnar was impressive with his brute force and quickness, but like i said before, needs much more training and experience, and he'll definitely be a force to reckon with. nogeuira is well known for getting the crap beat out of him for most of a fight and still finding a way too win. saw him fight in pride many times and it was pretty much the same story there. tons o heart for that guy. nogeuira vs mir next?????

I think Fabricio Werdum is the UFC's number 1 contender in the HW division after beating Gonzaga. I thought Dana White said this after the January PPV.

that very well could be. mir won't be far off though, i think the ufc would like to get him back up as the champ, or at least give him a shot at the title that he never actually lost. stupid motorcycle accidents and broken femurs.
