For those of you that are renting homes, how much of your monthly paycheck do you put towards the rent?

I have heard 1/4 to 1/3 of net monthly income, just curious if you guys use this standard or some other.

Whether renting or buying, I think a person would be nuts to spend more than 1/4 of their net income on just the payment. When it comes to all the monthly bills, insurance, gas, food, retirement, etc. there just isn't enough left over for splurge spending.

Yah, I just don't know how people afford it in the Seattle metro area. I mean for rent being 1/4, for a place that costs 1500 a month, that is a net income of 72000, or grossing 90k.... I don't make that.... maybe need to find a better job that does....

Blows my mind for people that afford 3k a month, following the 1/4 rule, that is 180k....

Ruffy not putting out enough to pay the rent...:p:D:eek:

I'm telling you, buy that enclosed. You can sleep in it, get more sledding in and bank more money!
