Horsepower suggestions

i agree with what most people have already stated. many good options have been listed. but...

i think the OTB performance of the pro is being over stated by consumers. i don't know anyone one that wouldn't want more power regardless of rider ability. when it comes to hp, pretty much more is better.

i love my pro and have absolutely zero regrets about selling my very well operating dragon and my full blown mod sled. both of them would have sat all winter if i still owned them. but i think b/c it is brand new, and everyone spent lots of hard earned money on it, they tend to overstate its abilities. the sled is absolutely awesome but there is always room for improvement. i think a pipe and a head would bring this sled one step higher. a carl's bb or that b.a. 1100 in the 200hp range would just be insanity. but it is possible and i'm sure when i couple of these motors are on get on the snow everyone will be talking about how they really make the pro shine. and when there is some more testing done with pipe/can/reed/etc i'm sure people will be saying this is how is should have been from the factor. yes the sled rips but i'm always looking to get a little more out of it. and pipes and a head are easily removed and returned to stock if the warranty becomes an issue. so personally i don't really consider those things as voidable items. although i'm willing to work on my sled enough to ensure that those mods are not on the sled if it ever goes to the shop.

i am going to have to do something i never do, and disagree with MH on one item... personally i think the stock shocks are less than impressive. i've had them re-valved by carl's twice and i'm still not happy with them. they are still too soft. maybe try three will work??

anyway, sorry to rant a little, but i've been noticing this all winter. enjoy, good luck.

he said things that will NOT viod warranty. X2 on clutching and learning to ride smarter and better.

Keep all the stock parts and show up at a good dealer like I have and submit your warranty claim... It's that easy if your dealer is any good...

Can't do much unless you pull some parts off before you take it in to the shop to get looked at? or your brother owns the shop?

Terra Alps Racing has billit heads that work, always testing in the BC mtns. and have a new dome design this year that accelerates hard.
High flow Y pipe
Cylinder porting
V force reeds aren't lasting long around here, either did the boyesen reeds.

after coming off a highly modded M i'm totally pleased with the pro stock right out of the box. sled is amazing, don't plan on doing a thing to it over the summer except for a running board mod. for what i've seen a pipe setup for this is around $1k, what a TOTAL RIP OFF!!! i guess since the aftermarket guys aren't selling very many pipes anymore they have to gouge the last guys willing to spend that kind of coin as much as possible. i think i'll save that money for more gas;)

I realize everyone is as good as Adams,Burant and the others in their own mind. Do a small cheap experiment. Take your Pro to a dealer and have him hook it up to digital wrench, get a print out of hours on motor and what percent at the different throttle openings I think you will be totally surprised at how little WOT is used. Hp is at WOT I bet most of the riding you do is between 5to 6000 rpms even less for a lot of folks and that is where the new 800 shines, its torque at low and hp are equal to all others or better, Why spend $1000.00 for the rpms that are used the least. Of course some riders do need more.

Way to go mark, bursting everyone's "I ride WFO everywhere" bubble. :face-icon-small-ton

How come your turbo sucks? Don't turbos both suck and blow?
