HM TURBO

So it is my 2nd year on a HM TURBO - installed by Shane and the boys in LOLO.

I have watched numerous threads...Thought id add my 2 cents.

Im running a 13, large injector kit. Last year running the 6.5 psi pump gas this year running the 7psi full av map.

I like Danny Dangles - am still running mechanical boost control - I have had ZERO issues with the kit thus far

Avgas tune - comes on the pipe a little softer - the pump gas hits hard - I mean really hard at 6500 RPM, the power comes on with the avgas a little softer - don't get me wrong its still a missile.

My comments this trip - starts good, doesn't load up, no sputtering or bobbles all the group we rode with are amazed - they called BS until they rode it. BTW we had two sleds-mine and a buddies pump gas - ride together all the time - no issues.

With the av gas map I had to add an extra gram of weight to keep the RPMS right vs the pump gas map it used to be, we rode in the trees as it was quite hard to see, and once again, easy to ride, power when u need it. - pump gas was a hand full as it lights up quicker.

LOVE the data logging - I rewired my kill switch to be the data logging on off - works like a charm, did a couple of big pulls, - pulled the data and noted boost, EGT, TPS as well as numerous other data - just nice to be able to. (Thanks for hooking this up LEVI)

NEXT on the list - the dual mapping, for 2 boost levels is coming - flip a switch, change weights and go - once I install this - Ill hook up the EBC and will let you folks how it works.

If things go awry - be sure that you will all know, I call'em like I see'em. If I spent mucho $$$ and if it was a toilet, you'd all know - I work hard for my $$$, and spend lots of time researching and digesting information before pulling the trigger, and appreciate the reviews of other folks - hopefully unbiased and truthful......- but lots of digesting is required as the bias tends to be large these days.

I also have had the exact same results with HM turbo kits. I have been running ebc since last spring and it works like a dream.
 
I work hard for my $$$, and spend lots of time researching and digesting information before pulling the trigger, and appreciate the reviews of other folks - hopefully unbiased and truthful......- but lots of digesting is required as the bias tends to be large these days.Happy New Years!!!

I also have had the exact same results with HM turbo kits. I have been running ebc since last spring and it works like a dream.

Just wondering how you have been running EBC since last spring when everyone else is still running a manual boost controller waiting for them to get it working right?
 
The guy that helped me out wrote alot of the Vipec programs in the beginning. He is still ahead of the curve to say the least. I know last spring I was the only one on the snow that had ebc working perfect. I don't work for any turbo builder so I guess our secrets are safe. :face-icon-small-win

Well if our EBC maps aren't out next week spill the beans please.
 
Well is all the programming out and everything working 100%? I'm still waiting for my kit it's been quite a while I hope at least everything is up to par once it finally comes.

I will let you know once we receive and test the EBC map. So far no EBC, I have contacted HM and Vipec, with no defined date.......But mech boost for the time being is nothing to scoff at, no lag, near perfect running. But still patiently awaiting the update.
 
So right now HM isn't a self compensating turbo system because they don't have the maping figured out for the closed loop EBC yet?

We must know the same guy... I have VIPEC and EBC also...
 
I would rather give you my opinion in a PM or talk on phone, too much to type, and I think there's an option you havn't thought about, that does not involve anyone's kit, not to discount one kit from another. I'm headed to mountain now, hopefully talk later? PM sent

Correct, still running open loop mapping. They have released a new map now, but still not ebc, now using EGT as a variable/safety factor in fueling. Vipec was working on the mapping with them, not sure where it stands at the moment.
