he probably typed in back.country.rebel.com when he was typing in bubba or something like that it and it just changed itself!

Just kidding scott. I have always been a lurker checking out your posts.

But it is funny! And I thought we all could use a laugh right now!

I'm not surprised Animal was skimmed over in Scotts post.

He was before my time but when I started I heard old timers talking about how great he was....heck the first time I got misty eyed was reading the post The Animal in Us All. I wonder what Animal would have to say about all this stuff.

It used to be that not only did we have great advice and BS on here with no whining, but we looked out for each other, especially when it came to Avy stuff.

Now it seems we are more worried about someone "ruining" snowest, then remembering our fallen brothers and keeping each other safe.

Proof....I posted this thread on the 14th, to date 14 replies and 421 views. It was and probably still is buried by the "Is Christopher Ruining Snowest" thread.....that just doesn't seem right going into winter.

Looks like Christopher does this everywhere he goes:

CONTROVERSY SURROUNDING THIS SITE
It seems as though every day I am accused by someone new of some wrong-doing related to this site. Whether its intentionally spreading fear and panic, priestcraft, teaching false doctrine, or hyping last-days events for some sort of personal gain, at this point Ive pretty much heard it all.

While the members of this site are certainly not prophets, there are times when I think that we all feel like Samuel on the wall: warning others of the coming of the Savior and begging them with all our might to get ready, all the while dodging the arrows of those who simply dont want to hear it. Reputation is one thing: character is another; and the Lord will judge us according to our character, not by our reputation. When men speak evil of us, we take consolation in the words of the Savior, speaking in the days of old to His disciples, He said, 'Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.' - Elder Joseph Eckersley, Conference Report, October 1907

I believe people learn and hear things differently from the Spirit. I believe this website has acted as a tool in the past for helping people find answers theyve been seeking. I believe it will continue to serve as such a tool for as long as the Lord will allow it. I would encourage any who find the contents difficult to deal with, to prayerfully consider whether they should stay here, or move elsewhere so they can learn of these things in the ways that will work best for them. As long as we are all preparing spiritually and temporally, I salute everyones efforts, regardless of whether or not this site is part of them.

Another key challenge I and the other moderators deal with on a daily basis has to do with contention, disagreements on various topics, and in general, how others choose to treat one another in the forums. Unfortunately, in an online community, its all too easy to lose site of the fact that real people are on the other end of the comments. Its easy to say something, or read something, in a different context than it was meant. While Im not aware of a single online community that doesnt deal with these types of issues, Im proud that we expend so much effort trying to keep these problems under control. As Lehi said, it must needs be that there is opposition in all things. (2Ne 2:11)

Holding different views or conversing about points of disagreement does not constitute contention. Neither does an argument or a debate, if (a big if) it can be done with a peaceful spirit and method. In short, the kind of contention treated here consists of disagreement plus a wrathful spirit or a quarrelsome method.

We hold our members to a high degree of accountability. We expect them to behave, and to treat one another in a way that would be pleasing to Christ. While we certainly understand that no one is perfect, we also reserve the right to take action against those who violate this rule. Despite our shortcomings, we try very hard to ensure that this site remains a house of order. (D&C 132:8).

Some choose to question our policy on charging for a membership to this site. I can certainly understand hesitation on this matter. Anybody charging for gospel-related services should be subject to scrutiny. Prior to my assuming the role as site owner, all of the content was available for free. Unfortunately, the project was not sustainable. It was losing large amounts of money. This site receives large volumes of traffic. It requires dedicated hardware in high-end internet data centers. It requires on-going maintenance, license fees to pay for software we use, and countless hours of my personal time, and the time of many others, in operations and management. Quite simply, this site would not be sustainable without a subscription service. It's interesting that some people have such a hard time with the concept of paying for these types of services. The church distributes countless amounts of information, services, and books for money. Examples include The Ensign, Deseret Book, the distribution center, and more. In most cases where actual cost is involved to produce and/or manage the content, the church requires a fee to help cover those costs. Unfortunately, we must do the same.

I wish to make it clear that I have always, and will always, provide discounted (or free, if required) memberships to those who wish to be here but simply cannot afford it, or for those who have fallen on hard times. I hold nothing for ransom.

Another issue many struggle with is the idea of private content on the site. Please understand, brothers and sisters, my intent is not to hold information ransom except to those willing to pay fees. The information on this site deemed private, or protected, is set that way generally at the request of the content owner. Examples include someone who has posted a private and sacred dream with the wish that it not be distributed outside of the trusted members of this site, or someone who has worked many hours to produce a book, but chooses to give it away for free to friends on our site. While it's true that a membership fee is required to view this content, the problem is rather incidental. The information is kept private to prevent wide-spread distribution at the request of those who created that content, not as a means to extract membership fees. As stated above, nothing here is held for ransom.

CONCLUSION
My brothers and sisters, please remember that I am but a fellow traveler on this journey. I hope, quite simply, that this site can act as a tool and an aid in your preparations. I am not privy to information from the Lord that you do not have. I am not a prophet, a seer, or a revelator. I do not have any stewardship or authority over you. I simply interpret what I have been given for myself and occasionally, when prompted, share my conclusions and ideas. We have all been given the same map, the same directions, and the same destination.

As the brethren have taught us many times in the past, all the money and all the preparations in the world will not save you in the events to come unless you are spiritually prepared. Temporal preparedness should be your second priority after your spiritual preparations.

I humbly ask that you do not treat anyone on this website, especially me, as bigger than life, nor should you regard anything I say or do with any special weight. We are all equals before the Lord. I have no special calling or authority over you. The Lord is our Master. His prophets are our guides. The Holy Ghost is our watchman. We are in this together.

May God bless you all in your efforts!

^^^^ you need to go work on your sled or something....that's just to much free time to find all that.;)

It was in my e-mail this am titled "Isn't this interesting?" It is, very. Rest easy, I'll be flying the friendly skies for the rest of the day-no laptop in my flying machine.

Good post! Animal would probably be calling me saying, "What's wrong with all these babies? Let's go ride and have some fun! WooHoo!" The best friends I have ever known have come from sledding, 90% of whom I have met on or through this site. I have continuously LMAO over the years, except for recently. I remember raising money to buy a 120 for a kid with leukemia who lived in New Mexico (does anyone know how he is doing?). There have been threads that have made me seriously belly laugh! There were a lot of kind words and shoulders of buddies, and even unkown people, to lean on after one of the greatest tragedies I have ever faced. I hope it snows soon, because what's going on here is getting ridiculous!

PS....I would pay 100.00 if you could give us back the archives from the old forum!

I don't care to engage in chit slinging either.

I just want to point out the fact that cat woman gave AR a infraction or warning for using the same type of spelling method to change a word not allowed by this site. can you say Hypocrite??

Werd!

I also miss the classic good time on here, but with in my main group of buddies we continue to do so in the PT's and Utah sections, It is what you make it any more. Ya, I like to mix it up any chance I get and confront an overzealous mod, (which seems to be happening more and more as of late.) But I also think that is one of the worst changes on here, the amount of mods and the people doing the moding. The users made this site and the users can continue to make this site great with or with out the bells and whistles, but it will be the mods that will hold this site back for the users.

What happened to the boy we got the Mini-Z for?
Yeah, good point CAD, forgot about that one.
And there were other charitable things besides that situation.

There was a custom sled built by SW 4M members from all donated new high perf. parts, that was auctioned off to raise money for Blue Ribbon Coalition.
Might have been in 2003 or 2004.

I remember somebody on the 4M won it, but I don't rmb'r the details anymore.

Hvaen't been on here since my last post last night...this thread needs to stay on task.

Please delete those posts that are NOT. I'm asking you to do so.

THUMBS UP!!!!!!

It had a Canadian and USA flag airbrushed on it. That Cat was built at a forum ride at Island Park right? I think Sledjunky was a big player on that project.

Yeah, good point CAD, forgot about that one.

THe forum will never be what it once was scott.

It's like a small town where everyone knows everyone by first and last name.
It's a great close knit community the shares in everything together. The good times the bad times the feasts and the famines. Well then comes in the developers and they start building up on all the land. The once close knit community of 1000 is now 36,000, and in the next few years it might be 100,000. The once small community is no more and now there are 36,000
other residents to add there opinion on how the town should run.
And the finally nail in the coffin..............A walmart!

Read Scott's post and not much in between. But here is my take.

I like the Farmer bit makes sense, but what you forgot to mention is the Farmer's city slicker son, Christopher. He comes home to the country and tries to bring the city to the field, wanting to spend all the Farmer's money to do so. And after spending all the money finds out that he has only made the field worse, not better and now wants to charge everyone to use the field. Everyone says no way and finds another field and Christopher heads back to the city after causing the Farmer to lose his field.

Christopher needs to take his Corporate IT bull**** back where it belongs and leave the Field to us!!! :beer;
