Hi, new to the forum. Question about my Yamaha Phaser

BUY USED PARTS!
For about $500, you could outfit both sleds with rail extensions, 136" tracks, and some decent powder skis (no need to go overboard on the skis, those sleds are pretty light, right?)
Used 136x15x1.75 or 2" tall $100 tops. ( I just sold a 153x2" track for $150 and we both thought we got a good deal) and port the cr@p out of it.
Either cut the track down, so that it just fits, or new track drivers, another $50-100/ea.
Skis, $50-100 for a set, any thing plastic and 6"+ wide will be good.
Rail extensions, about $50?
Gear it down as much as possible.
Read and ask specific questions in the Yamaha section.
Oh, and get them as light as possible.
Good luck

I put an Aaen pipe, 1-1/2 track and 7 tooth drivers on a buddy'd 98 Mtn Lite and he says it made a big difference. Used parts except for the drivers.

New Drivers and new skiis

If you get the 7 tooth drivers you get an 1.5 inch track and an effective gear reduction to actually spin it. I have a 136 x 1.5 track on mine ( old summit track) and it is no speed demon but it spins it fine. Also the skis are huge part of the equation, really anything plastic will do better than the metal ones. I got some of the AC parabolic one for free and it made a huge improvement. And like others have said the Aaen pipe, ect. I raised my bars put a headlight on the hood and ditched the classic fairing. I use it for my neighborhood sled, it is a hoot coming off a newer bigger sled and just throwing that thing around, I love it !!
