Hi, new to the forum. Question about my Yamaha Phaser

Hey guys, nice forum you got here. My brother and i have been getting excited to do some sledding this year- our grandparents let us take the old phasers whenever we want. They have really crappy 1/2" track tho and we want to get something really aggressive for the light pow here in utah.

Year 1998 Yamaha phazor Model:PZ480EB

Where can i get information on what size of track to look for? I'm guessing the there is a place on the track that says what size it is?

thanks in advance for helping out some newbs :) May it snow violently wherever you are-

Erik

how tall of a lug can you put on those old phazers without any mods? I have seen some 136 Phazers way back in the bush and they weren't geting there with a 1" lug

You can go with a 1.75 max, I have a ton of parts for it if interested, updated mid range jets, reed spacers, some gears, chain, i think stock, primary spring and clutch puller, if it doesnt have it already you need to add the fresh ar intake and a Aaen pipe gear it down and reclutch put a god set of skis on and it will be good to go, set up correctly they would run with the old 580 powder specils. Let me know if interested.

yeah i would love to slowly do some work to it, but don't have a ton of extra cash to spend. What would it cost to get better skis on it? These don't turn worth a crap. Thinking of pulling off the windshields too because they always get fogged up and snow all over them anyway.

it depends on hat you want to spend it can go up to 500 i put on a stock set of powder special skis, they were take offs, if you want these parts i will make you a heck of a deal, some one may as well get some use out of them i not going to use them.

i have to focus on the track for now, that is most important. These sleds have very low time on them and run pretty good. Most interested in track and skis. If you want to sell anything, then quote me your price

another alternative is too paddle your existing track...if you can find them anymore...easy to install...bend over and crappy compared to a track but was all we had years ago...they were a tough type plastic track width paddles...and as well smaller ones were availiable to stagger if wanted...check out some of the traction product web sites...woodys etc..save ya the cost and trouble of a track and a quick install..just an option to help in the powder...but they were slippery on ice....

yep they were cheap...heck we gave all our last ones away to a kid wanting better traction on his snowscoot...anyway goggle snowmobile track traction products and see what you come up with...woodys...roatin etc etc...ebay may have some of those old plastic paddles and their is likely newer alternatives...ekholm used to make them i think...anyway like i said their are the less wider ones that you can stagger much like stud patterns etc..the old paddles some of the shops or old sledders in your area may have some under their counters just anxious to give them up..
