That has to be the dumbest thing i have ever heard, obviously you havent ridden anything under 1000lbs haha so you dont know what its like to ride a light sled, and you must be a pretty darn big 14 year old to be able to handle an RX1 and have fun doing it:rolleyes:. It will also be a lot easier to get people to help you on this forum if you dont spout off about being a good rider because you are 14 years old and have been riding for what 2 years? on a real sled maybe? and some of these guys have been riding for 30 years.

Welcome to SW.

You'll love deep powder. It's a whole different world from trail riding.

The steep and deep is challenging, and intimidating.
I've alwayse fealt that you have to go through hell learning it,
before you can apreciate it, and enjoy it.

You go through some challenges that make you wonder why you are here, but the next time you see that situation,
you know how to aproach it.

pretty soon you're looking for those challenges, because they're sooo fun. :)

Well that was very interesting! Iam 6 foot 3! Well then ill say it this way....... iam sure i dont ride as good as some of you 35+ guys but i did not crash one time this year! (that did any thing to the sled) And dont worry i will get my turboed apex! !

J:cool:
Oh and could we please stop talking about this??
And i have been riding for 4 years on a real sled!

Wow they grow em big in No Man's land don't they? The question is what "real" sleds have you been riding for the last four years, and that are going to make you ready to handle a 300hp turbo?

wow, some people's kids these days!

15 y.o's arent meant and shouldnt ride a boosted anything imo, unless there's a special circumstance. get a smaller, lighter sled and learn how to man handle that before you go to the big leagues. trust me, it will help you.
just my .02 cents

i was wondering when you were going to get in this? lol I definitely agree with you on get a lighter sled to learn how to ride it like a champ before moving on up.

Very good advice, about the best thing you can do is just find something that you can have fun on and learn on it, it will take time, but given enough practice you will get the hang of it and get to be a very good rider, I know I learn new things every time I ride, it's all a matter of time and practice. If you can accept that it will take a long time to learn to ride a mountain sled decently, you are already on your way. Practice, get stuck, challenge yourself, get stuck some more, and challenge yourself to get it right and your feel for doing the hard stuff will come. When I got my RMK, I couldnt carve a quarter circle in 2 ft of fresh powder, now I can do 360s all day long in just about any snow:eek::D

Being that your 14, an older 6 or 700 in a 144 track would probably work great for you to learn deep snow. Depending how deep your talking and what kinda sleds you ride with, maybe a 151, but as long as you get something that is in the same world as the sleds you intend to ride with, you'll be doing good:D

Have Fun:D:cool::beer;

Couldn't agree more. An RMK 6 or 7 in the good old EDGE chassis would be a great place to start. I still have an 03 700 151 in the stable and still love it to death. True, the older chassis is a little harder to throw around than some of the new ones but IMO it will make you a better rider in the long run. Chassis is very friendly to mods too.

Don't be afraid of running a Fancooled Mountainsled if the right one came around ,the 570 MC with a big track work great and they have lot's of room for 16 wide's and the engine performs very well you just move around a little slower than the big sleds but the fun factor is huge.I ran Fancooled in the mountains for 22 years the last one being a Mod Indy Lite with a 488 in it lots of fun ,my TUNDRA is the first liquid sled I have owned.

I started on a 380 ski-doo,(was on that for two years, then i got my moms 500 summit, (rode that for one and a half year), And then i bought my 740 UB last fall! WOW that was fun! OK guys! Maybe your right! What about a M1000 with Nos?
