Don't mislead the selling price!!!!!!

Big Brother Customs watches this site.

I second that! I pulled a dum dum a couple of years ago and got fined $2500 bucks on a $15000 boat. That sucked. My own fault though.

yea i got fined $2300 for having a vehicle in an enclosed trailer. they ripped all the door panels off the vehicle because they thought i was smuggling stuff.......it was my own fualt though

i imported 10 sleds two enclosed trailers and 6 trucks last year and never had an once of trouble- its easy if you have done your homework - mere minutes at the border-all the sleds were skidoo,s and they never charged me a nickle for the recall letters - all were very profitable - unfortunetly with the sudden collapse of the cdn dollar the margins no longer look so good.m2c

MOD Sled Import.

Just prove what you paid. I have brought 5 sleds in from the US through Washington into BC in the past year and a 6th one next friday. 5 out of the six are mod Sleds including big bore kits and one right from SLP taht was in all the mags in 2007 as test sled of the year.

It is easy just have your reciepts and paperwork done. Wait the 72 hours and getter done.

Lien Search how's it done?

How does one preform a lien search on a sled? Very close to buying and wanted to do it right, is there a web site, what's the cost how much of the sellers info do I need?

Anybody know, or done one of these themselves?

Thanks

importing

OMG, this is crazy, All you need after you pay is the title/bill of sale, a written one is fine, and if you saw the ad on a site then maybe print that off too....in case those idiots dont believe you on your price. I have imported many vehicles, but after you get the sled then drive to the border, maybe store it for the 72 hours and get the papers to fax to Montana with the bill of sale, and if it has a title then that too....after 72 hours call your border to make sure they got the okay, go pick up your sled and go over the border with it, pay the tax and your all set. They dont even look at the sled most of the time...... IFFFFF you choose to register it thats up to you, you dont have to, or insure it it you dont want to. Its simple. but right now you wont save anything, money sucks here and its almost not even worth it to buy in the US at this time unless its an absolutely amazing deal!!
Have a good season, stay safe....play hard!!

Beware of warranty

Keep in mind when you bring your sled back up here to Canada that your local dealer is not to eager to give you any help at all with warranty and in no rush to work on your machines either!! I Brought in an 07 A/C M8 last January and my warranty just expired on it a couple weeks ago. It has less than 300 miles on it and the dealer tells me I need a $2000 ECU that they will not warranty. I talked to Arctic Cat Canadas customer relations head office and they told me I should have bought it in Canada and then maybe my local dealer would have tried harder to get it warrantied for me. The cost of this part makes the M8 total cost, the same as I would have paid for the sled I actually wanted here in canada !!!!

Just Something To Think About!!!!!!!!

Sold several jetskis to guys in BC when money was better for them can't see it happening much now though

the border isn't a big problem on our end GST is the big deal for the canadians tho

paperwork is the key have it all and give a sales reciept with your ph# customs might call and verify usually no big deal

and like someone else said DON"T lie big brother is there watching too they know and if you have been e-mailing they'll pull it up e-bay they have it all

Thanks

Just wanted to post my thanks, I'm about to pick up my XP from Mount Vernon. While trying to make sure all my t's are crossed with Customs, I found another link for those Canadians that are looking to do the same.

Anyway thanks to those that contributed to the thread. Oh....and, Yes I think I think that this thread SHOULD remain at the top.

Hey guys, I want to import a 2 place drive on/off trailer. What trailers am I able to import to Canada? Do they just need a 17 digit vin?

I imported a trailer last year and had no troubles - I believe on the RIV site it does list a # of manufacturers that are recognized. I also recall that the categories changed above a certain GVW...

To my knowledge, you don't need the 72 h warning to US customs upon leaving and you don't need to tell US Customs that you are exporting it, just show up at the CDN border (as it isn't a 'motor vehicle'). Of course the RIV program still applies! I had border crossing guards try to tell me I had to give warning on the US side when I called, but then I called RIV and advised me to just drive on though the border. They even checked out the VIN over the phone to tell me I was in the OK for the import. Almost $205 worth of service !
