I keep reading about fuel pressures as I have been having the same problems on my 08 M1000.
My mag side 'typically' cuts out, from overfueling. Egts drop right out.
This started to occur before the late great 09 re-map. But got worse after that said re-map.
Swapped out many ECUs, wiring harnesses, pipe sensors, air temp sensors etc etc. Pretty much all the way leaned out on my Attitude box. Put the stock pipe back on at the end of last season, it seemed to run a bit better. Put everything stock back on, no change. That right jug would still drop out. Had about 43 psi stock on my in-line gauge I plumbed in.
Plumbed in a BDX / Turbosmart regulator, slowly dialed down to 38psi the other day. Richened total full pull mode & WOT mode. Cruise and accel modes are still on fast flash. A/F runs 15 to 12.5 on cruise green mode. It occasionally gets down to 10.5 but that's not very often. I get 12.5 on WOT. EGT's run high 1100's, Low 1200's.
Clutching also seems to be wonky since the re-map last season.
42-36 cutler twist spring convert. Red white OR kitty green. Middle hole preload.
Cutler adj. 75-85G set @ 75. (Used to run with about 78G last season)
new rock rollers.
046 belt
59-61 gearing
RPM won't go past 7450 / 7500 if I'm lucky.
Roooooping at about 6500 feet.
I can only get my one cylinder to drop out when I'm wicking the throttle to get through gnarly sections. Seems to happen right around when the power valves open up but it doesn't happen often. Anyhow it's more like when you gotta slow down, dodge a tree, turn, speed up turn more cause you over turned, then let off then bog, then wick twice then MAYBE get out of the snafu you got yourself into 'cause you watched some burandt on youtube the night before.
Soo back to fuel pressure, how low have people gone? I been reading about all sorts of pressure. 38, 42, 44, 49, 53, etc etc etc. Not too sure what to think of it all. I'm not grasping why people would have to go up in pressure for non-turbo applications
Anybody got anymore tips? Glady appreciated.
Good thread on the go too. Sorry to hijack.
