Help looking for a new truck

Looking for a new truck since i am going to be moving off to college soon. I am wanting a chevy half ton like a 96-02 that would be in my price range. I just missed one that i probably should have bought but it was in nebraska. Just wanting to get that out there in case anyone runs across a good one or has one.

Oh yeah that's where I bought my sled off of. From what I have seen on there some of the vehicles from utah have some rust on them and I would like to avoid that, but thanks for the reminder!

Yes, some do, but usually they are in pretty fair condition. Definitely a good site to find a vehicle on though.

Did you try Fremont Motors or Hammer Chevrolet? Its been awhile since I've been to Sheridan, but I thought there were a few auto dealerships

What is your price range? I work for Markley Motors (GMC/Buick/Honda/used) in Fort Collins, CO.

Call, text or email me and let me know what you need and price range. I have stuff coming in all the time.

Good advice.
I would much rather buy from a reputable dealer than from a private party.(especially if the salesman is here on Snowest)

And while I'm marketing myself, this is our 76th year of business sale. Shady dealers don't stay in business for 76 years. :)

I have a solid selection of all brands in stock right now, used.

I'd also recommend a 99 or newer chevy over the pre-99. In 99.5 they started getting the 5.3

Prior to that it was the 5.7

Good motor but not as good as the 5.3

I would beg to differ, a bit.
The 5.3 is a good motor no doubt, but for longevity and ease of maint/repair, cheap parts, etc, can't beat the 350 (5.7).
If I was on a budget and needed a reliable truck, to this day, I would still get a 88-98 GM, 350, auto or stick. Can find some of the light 2500s and 2500s with a NV4500 trans as well.

I have been looking for a '99+ chevy or gmc, but have been keeping an eye open for the earlier chevys as well. I would prefer the 5.3 motor because i would think they would get better gas mileage. I would like to stay $6,000 or less if possible, but i can be a little flexible with that. Also wanting an extended cab. Am looking at a 2001 chevy 1500 that is close to where i live, its got 189k on it, and some rust above the rear wheel wells which i do not like. Its a good truck other than the rust and a few minor things and the guy wants $6500 for it. Pretty sure i could talk him down, but just an idea of what im currently looking at.
