HELP going to snowy need to know where

First off Thanks in advance

Were staying at snowy mountain lodge off the U trail I know its almost impossible to tell me where to go off trail.

But someone sd the Shoshone area is grommed well, I'm bring my wife and one day we are going to ride trails. I heard this is a good groomed area can someone please tell me what trail this is like R,Q,N i have no idea.

Also can anyone tell me where to go for some meadow and hill climb area are?

I need some info like off of trail so and so is good i dont need exactly just please give me off of what ever trail

Also where is widow maker at and some of the more popular hills.

Thanks

To trail ride, head south on T stop at Albany then head back going up farther west. There are a couple trails not groomed but almost are from U to the south. There also are a couple nice valleys and forest roads to get off on.
As far as more challenging stuff, trails U, N, NO, and O will take you completly clockwise around the mountain with many areas and hills to play on. The ungroomed Gap trail goes north and south in the middle with the Widowmaker and Roller Coaster on the north end of this. Nice trail and off trail riding (not that much groomed) to the north.

What do you and your wife want to see?
You want vistas and overlooks, or lazy trails down thru the trees?
How many miles do you plan on riding in a day?
Do you want a hot meal for lunch??

There are a lot of options for day rides depending on what you want.

Take U down to N.
Go down N to X. There are a lot of large meadows right besides the trail along the way.

Take X to K. There are some really nice overlooks.
Take K to M.
Take M back up to N. This is a really nice ride and the trail doesn't get hit much so it is usually pretty nice.
Take N all the way down to Hi-130. From here you can go to the place or you can take U over to the Rendezvous for lunch. I prefer the Rendezvous. Once you cross 130 turn right and follow the trail to the rendezvous. if you turn left you go thru the parking lot and hit Q

From there you can either take Q down to V (if it is getting later or the weather is bad), or you can take Q down to T. This is a winedy section that is a nice lazy drive.
Take T back up to U and back to your lodge. If the wind is blowing real bad be careful of this section. In high winds it is easy to get turned around and lost. If the wind isn't bad it's no big deal.

This is about 100 miles.

Where to ride in the snowy's

Go west on trail U to N, Take N to NO and you can find plenty of areas to ride.
If not go over to Medicine Bow Lodge on the west side of U trail and ask for Tim he can tell you where to find powder.
