Since I don't have enough electronics... Just as the title says, I'm in a dilemma... Give me some advice on what works for you, and your experiences!
Thanks guys!
-sidenote, this will be used for motorsports etc....so no dirty comments!!
I just picked up the Vio-pov.
THey have a new helmet mount for it that works great.
you get 6 hours of recording on a single chip.
Video is awsome.
Check it out. http://www.vio-pov.com
I've got both and honestly I wish I'd spent the money from helmet cam on a better camcorder. Helmet video all looks basically the same and frankly gets boring after a few minutes, whereas handheld is more easily panned and zoomed to get different viewpoints.
Plus, it might be awkward trying to do a Paris Hilton with a helmet on .......
(Sorry just couldn't resist since you mentioned it.)
Agreed helmet cam is great for another perspective during a video but unless you are following someone and filming them the video you take of your riding looks all the same.Way more fun watching a video cameras footage of your friends.
We use both for variety. Our interest in using a helmet camera led to the development of ICAM. Check out the web sight www.icamdvr.com. We have multiple cameras to connect to the DVR so you are not limited to just using it as a helmet camera but also tactical for non-helmet sports or anything else.
