We left the Detroit, MI area on Friday around 12:30pm and started the trek west. Picked up a buddy along the way and hit Chicago perfect at RUSH HOUR!! After spending 1.5 hours in Chicago traffic we entered Wisconsin and arrived in Minnesota 12 hours from the time we left. We caught some much needed sleep and woke up early to hit the show. We stayed at the LivInn in Fridley and wow...how looks can be deceiving!! I will only say this, I will never stay THERE again. It was a half a$$ attempt at a "nice" hotel but unfortunately the poor accommodations and CRACK PIPE in the courtyard turned us off a bit.:(

Being that this was our 1st visit to Haydays I was nothing but short of speechless when we started to the show and sat in a 3.5 mile line to get in.

It didn't get any less impressive as we walked through the gates. I was immediately overwhelmed and over excited to get to work. First stop was to see Kirk @ HMK and get our E-Series Tunnel Bag on his sled. He was suppose to get his 2010 M8 there but it didn't work out so it was poorly displayed on a 2009 with a AC factory rack and boss seat. Nobody's fault and we made the best of the situation and still got it on display. HUGE thanks to Kirk @ HMK for letting us mooch off him and display the bag!

We met so many great people I'm going to try and thank them all but if miss you and you are reading this THANK YOU!

Stopped in to see Tom from 509 and drop off a Sled Solutions t-shirt and he was one busy guy. I got to try on one of the new 509 Helmets and they ROCK! It felt light and the sizes ran true to size and they looked sick! Great meeting you Tom and we look forward to continuing our relationship with 509.

The Hawksworth family - Great seeing you guys again and it was great seeing the new new products from Skinz Protective Gear!! We're looking forward to ANOTHER great year selling the best and most innovative products on the market! Hope everyone enjoys the t-shirts!

St. Boni's booth had Wade with RSI in it so another stop to drop off Tee's and say what up!! Glad to see you doing so well after the accident! Got to check out some of the new stuff and BS with Wade and his partner. Was a pleasure to see you guys again and thanks for the goodies Wade!!:D

Had a long list of people to meet and we managed to get to all and then some.

Brad and Bryan at www.xxxmodrod.com was one of them! What a great great couple guys and the products are awesome. Thanks for the new vent kit, I'll be installing them this week. The new T-shirts are bad a$$ and I'll proudly be wearing my "Tree Huggers Suck" shirt! I'll be in touch in this week to get my son hooked up with the "Your Dad's Sled Sucks" shirt for the new school year.:D

Thanks to Chris Burandt for once again taking the verbal abuse from the Michigan boys! Good seeing you again bud! Can't wait till the snow flies so I can show you how to ride that RTR.:D

For the life of me I can't remember the couples name I talked to that was with Chris. You guys are good people and enjoyed the conversation.

Bret Rassmussen - It was truly an honor to have met you and the video is already up on our site and the wheels are in motion. My son and I have already watched it. Great video!

Kyle with Boondockers, thanks for the ear time and we look forward to working with you guys in the future.

Thomas Opre with Extreme Velocity - Thanks for thet new vid its next on the list of viewings for the day.:beer;

The folks at www.mountainaddiction.com - Great product and we look forward to talking this week!

fullmonte
- Great meeting a fellow snowester!

To the guys who drove out there with me...Todd and Feech...Thanks! It was a blast even though I missed half the day with you guys.

Jordan and Gary with www.arcticfxgraphics.com , good times as always!

We hit the HMK party at Bamboo Betey's for a while and then hit it since we had to leave pretty early to head home.

This show was UNREAL!!

Biggest bummer was we didn't get to meet any Snowesters at the show!! (Monte excluded)

My first year there sounds just like your experience.....

We stayed at a Days Inn in Fridley and just a couple doors down was a freaking drug store, people coming and going all night and a constant flue of smoke coming from their window, obvious what it was too. The people at the front desk wanted nothing to do with it and I got the impression that was a normal occurance there.

Our first year we sat in line from 8pm Friday night to 5am Saturday morning, only to be the 3rd vehicle back after the swap was full, so ended up in the parking lot. But, it was a fun time in line, each trailer had a grill going, people making up drinks for everyone.... good time.

I do not miss the cleaning up after a year like they had this year..... Everything from your vehicle to your a-hole was coughing out dust for the next several days.

It's a good time no matter what.... I wonder how well a "western" haydays would go over?

It felt like we were in the "wrong" part of MN that's for sure.

The dust was abundant without a doubt.

we stayed at the super 8 in blaine and i was impressed to say the least at how nice the place is...last year i think we stayed in coon rapids and il say never again to that

Livinn

Agreed on the LivInn. Tried it also and it's a nice place in a bad environment and I'm guessin it won't be nice long. Saw you guys a couple times, but never got loose to talk. Maybe next year! :beer;

Yes, it's a shame as they attempted to make it a nice place.

Cool...next time.

just so you guys all know fridley, and towns to the north of mpls are poop holes every hooker, drug dealer, crack smoker stays in the hotels around fridley.

next years spot is farther north into "upnorth feel" so If you plane on coming back look into forest lake, north branch and maybe even farther north.

hinckley casino probably a 20min ride to the new spot

Brief overview of my first trip to Haydays:

Left Bismarck at 4ish with my two buddies, and made it to our hotel in Coon Rapids around 9:30. We decided live it up, since we are out of town, we will become MN's problem. Called a friend who goes to U of M, and decided to party with the college downtown since it was their first weekend at school. AWESOME to say the least haha, 3 bars there and we drank more than our share to say the least, partied with college peeps till 4ish...

Woke up at 6:30.

Got back to Coon Rapids and showered and filled the tank with fresh continental breakfast to soak the "old slosh" up, and headed to Haydays Gatorade in hand. Sat in line for about an hour till we got parked.

Show for me was awesome. LOTS of stuff to buy, just not enough money to pull the trigger on everything I wanted haha. Saw lots of cool stuff and accessories that I pretty much wanted 2 of each of, watched the freestyle, a couple of drags, got some autographs of calendar models, and walked the swap aimlessly looking at tracks that could double for asphault racing and lots of stuff that would be a good purchase if you were going to start a junkyard. Lots of deals tho, saw a lot of sleds being hauled away by the quads.

Left to go to the HMK party, which was AWESOME again. Tail was one of a kind there, the guy running the place does a good job hiring lookers that I wish were peelers haha. GREAT party, lots of laughing, more drinking, and met some good peeps.

In conclusion, came home with a klim balaclava, a couple calendars, a chapped azzhole from all the walking, and a kidney that wants to kill me. Was a great time and can't wait to do it again next year!

Wish I knew that before we made reservations...LOL! Them moving it north was good for me. Next year we WILL have a booth and since I'll NEVER drive through IL AGAIN I'm going north and over through the U.P.

hahaha, Exactly!!!

I lived in Brooklyn Center for a year after I got out of tech school. Crack houses galore. Fridley is no better.

Anyway like FCG said, Go north from the twin cities for a place to stay Blaine is about as far south as you will want to go.

dude North Branch and Cambridge make back woods Montucky look like it has classy people! Talk about redneck hickville.

Glad you had fun, hopefully I can make it next year. And if you only had to meet one SWer Monte is a good one to meet.

Good meeting you too Paul. Sorry some of you had to stay in not the most desirable neighborhoods. We don't always have the best "model" citizens. You were just on the wrong side of the cities. Hope everyone had a good time at Haydays regardless. And thanks all of you that stopped by the Bob's Cycle Supply booth.

Oh thanks! That really helps :face-icon-small-hap Theilman was so much fun this spring I hated having to miss it for Haydays. No bad crashes this time around I hope. Gees, looking back I broke my bark buster and my bike tried eating my foot. I will be riding some woods in Michigan next week though. :D Seems season's go by so quickly and there is such short time to spend with friends. Luckily we can ride in winter too, huh.

Sorry you missed us Paul..Our 3rd year showing at Haydays and defiantly the best! Met alot of great snowesters and just plain good folks...Dust was tough on the displays, but thats what you get..Wouldn't miss it.
Party at Bamboo Bettys was incredible.. somehow we made it back to the hotel.. the next morning was a tough one...

Paul next time you drive through Chicago please let me know so I can help you get around all that traffic! It will be much quicker for you next year when the major construction is done, but there are ways around it! :) Glad to hear you guys had fun, one of these years I will have to make it to Haydays.
