HawkFest Questions

Hawkfest lady here...

Tons of good stuff planned and available in town for the wife and kids. SnowDunes checkout the website www.snowhawkadventure.com
As for snacks guys there is a 24 hour mega walmart right across the street and up a block from the hotel.
Sorry I couldn't book any place up in hills like last year there simply wasn't any place like that down there. Sooo sorry.
Also guys if you like your brew make sure you've got that because being Utah it can be a bit limited to find.
Also please make sure you are getting on the states website to see if you are coming please check out.
SNOWMOBILE TABS http://stateparks.utah.gov/ohv/out-of-state-registration you may not need tabs or if you do lets make sure you get that figured out before Friday.
Also we are hoping to do a get together for machine tuning on Thursday night.

my 2 bits...

My 800 Hawk will eat 9 gal of gas in half a day if the powder is deep because its pinned going straight up and down the hillside. On average we ride probably 30-40 miles and run out of gas. I bring extra fuel in the truck at the trailhead usually around 7 miles away. Sometimes I have put a few extra gallons in empty oil containers in a backpack and after riding up the trail top off the tank or stash them under a tree and refuel to get back to the truck.

The places we will be riding for Hawkfest shouldn't be too far from the trailhead so it might work out to go back, eat lunch at the truck and refuel for the afternoon.

The N,UT group can probably give a better idea.

Suppose to snow all this week...unfortunately most of it will be hitting sounthern utah instead of northern!

well about lunches i would take up a backpack/camel pack feeled up with your choice of drink, old gristmill sandwich, candy bars, etc... we do stop sometimes and make a fire in the trees and take a break. so u could bring hotdogs. And about gas. there is no gas stations up the canyon. so u have to feel up the hawks in town. its a smart idea to pack extra gas because i allways run out. hope i awnsered some of ur questions :)
