Has anyone fully modded a 08 freestlye or tundra?

A shop in MT. swapped out tracks on a tundra and did the 156x16x2.5, bar risers and a shorty seat. This had the 800 4banger in it. I was wondering, what about some unnatural aspiration (TURBO). I think that that would be a blast of a ride. Be kicking some butt on the T-phazers.

Would like to see pics of the mod rf chassis's. I am going to remove the 300 fan cooled and install a 925 genisis. Also going to long track 154 xp track and xp suspension. I think this would be an awsome, light, mountain sled that would not require a turbo for the thrill I seek.

I modded a freestyle, put a 800ho powertek in it. I used the wiring harness out of a rev,the carbs, pipe, dpm, the rear skid, 151x16x2.25 track, 08 summit skis.I even used the front and rear heatexchangers. it went together like it was ment to be,funnest sled i have ever road ( it rocks ) Took me about 7 nights in the garage to biuld it.

I would love to see pics of your mod. Can you send me any? I have always thought this would be a great sled to mod. What do you think final wieght is on your sled? I would think it is lighter than any mountain sled built.

No not nose heavy at all, very well balanced, best handling machine i've been on.I absolutly love it,I'm going to put a 162 on it before winter is over.

Hey now share the love. I have the 550 version, and was thinkin the very same thing. Looks to be lots-o-room in there. Would you mind sendin some pics my way?

Ya, gotcha. Thanks for for the pm cruehead. Am looking forward for the report after your four day trip. Can't wait to see pics of your mobile. On my other post, their are pics of a 550f that was done up at specialty sleds. Good looking sled. But I think for performance we are on the right page.

cruehead, I have been on paper again trying to get a very realistic wight for my project. I have come up with 420 lbs. with the 925. I am using a u cooler instead of the stock coolers though. Also using stock rear set up from an xp 154. Except drivers and shafts of course. I really think if a guy put some lighter weight stuff, shocks, and a-arms in particular, the 400 lb. mark is very realistic. Of Course, worst case senario, am off on my weight a little (445) I will have more than enough power to make my eyes bleed. We will just have to see when I get sled finished. Have very good blueprints for fabric panels and ram air hood! SSSHHH!!!

PROPS FOR YOU GUYS, I THINK THAT 420 WILL BE A TOUGH WEIGHT TO HIT, (IM 400 GIVE OR TAKE 5LBS)(ALL CARBON LIGHT WEIGHT EVERYTHING) BUT EVEN 440-450 IT WILL ROCK. WE HAVE TWO XP'S AND MY SLED IS WAY LIGHTER, DONT GET ME WRONG THE XP'S ROCK, I WOULD NOT TRADE BUT THEY ROCK.

WHEN YOU GET THIS SLED SET UP IN THE LOW TO MID 400s with 170-180 plus hp you are going to love it. nothing beats light weight.

IMO AND FROM EXPIEARANCE, STAY AWAY FROM THE SHOCKS, FLOATS IM ASSUMING, THERE WAY TO TOUGH TO GET VALVED FOR THAT LIGHT OF A SLED, THE EVOLS WOULD WORK BUT THERE PRICEY,

I RUN XRS FRONT SHOCK WITH TI SPRINGS AND A FABCRAFT REAR, AND A TIMBERSLED FRONT END. I LIKE MY FAB BUT FOR THE MONEY AND WEIGHT SAVING I WOULD HIGHLY LOOK AT A TIMBERSLED FRONT AND REAR END.

GOOD LUCK

Ridehard 1212, What is the weight difference between a stock xp rear suspension and a timbersled suspension. Do you have a timber on your xp? Also, to no surprise, I am have a tough time finding a-arms that are carbon for the rf chassis. Thats ok, I can build a new set with relocated shock mounts and a little wider. Shocks: Good tip on the floats. Have heard of others having some problems also. Don't know what to run yet. I will have to finish a-arms first to get proper length of shock needed. OH, and another problem, I can't build this thing fast enough!!
