Gun ban is a coming; HR 45

Australian Gun Law Update
Here's a thought to warm some of your hearts...
From: Ed Chenel , A police officer in Australia
Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under.
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced
by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by
our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.
The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent,
Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent;
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.
(Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not and criminals still possess their guns!)
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly, while the resident is at home.
Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in 'successfully ridding Australian society of guns.' You won't see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information.
The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note Americans, before it's too late!

When i was a member of the northwest 1000 yd association in missoula a
few years ago this black suv stoped to watch us, one of the guys looked around, didn't say much, the other one ran his mouth alot,trying to be everyones friend, the loud one had a camera and had to have a pic of
everyone of us and our gun's - asked us to pose with the firearm.
I told him to get out of my face, he just kept asking if my gun could hit
someone or some thing important at 1000 yds? Then i got mad and he was going to go down! when a bud steped in an ask him to leave the line that the match was going to start soon-- so the a$$jack went to the pits and took pic's of everyone down there and then left not saying a word - we never saw them again. point is i'm done, under ground with my opinion's and what ever else i HAVE.
You guy's are going to have to ride this one out - there is not enough of us to go around if you know what i mean - at least not tell the sheeple beg for us, and most are to bumb to cry for help.
TAND UP AN SPEAK YOUR MIND,
MINDING WHAT YOU SAY

I have a child due in mid april, and I promise I will do anything in my power to keep the freedoms I have enjoyed so much in this life.

:) Yup having your own child/children really puts things into perspective, doesn't it? It makes you a hell of a lot less selfish and almost everything you do is for them.

‘(1) IN GENERAL- It shall be unlawful for any person other than a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, licensed dealer, or licensed collector to possess a qualifying firearm on or after the applicable date, unless that person has been issued a firearm license--

God help us!

whoah, whoah, whoah.......not cool

....good thing all of my guns fell in the river during a tragic boating accident:D

I refuse and will continue to refuse to allow my weapons to be controlled. If I am a criminal because of it, then so be it. I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees.

thats very patriotic.....but what do you mean by that....honestly......citizens are nothing if not in numbers..........if that day ever comes where you would be forced to make that choice, it would be tragic to see people such as yourself portrayed as martyrs..........here is to you!!!:beer;:beer;:beer;

.223 ammo has been hard to find and nearly 5x the price it was before war broke out. All NATO ammo calibers are tough to find to include 9mm. Brass for reloading took a big price hike last winter. 7mm ultra brass in remington went up from about $25 a bag of 50 to about $45. 7mm STW went up from $12 to 19 in the winchester, $25-$40 in the Remington. Has nothing to do with Obama. It's been going on for years now.

I think the days of decent priced 9mm are gone.. I check the websites I used to order from and everything is sold out.... makes we wonder if I should save them for the new laws or go play and hope i can find more to restock...

Reloading equipment.
Cures the whole problem.

Some rounds do not justify reloading. .223 for an AR-15 for instance. With a single stage (rock chucker) takes too much of my time (time is $) to load 1000rds that I might shoot over the course of a year. And a Dillon speed press cost to much for me to justify the amount to spend for how much I shoot. But if I shot 1000rds a month in 9mm or .223 I would certainly spend the $ to go out and spend the money for a Dillon. For my larger calibers (7mm STW and 7 Ultra) I think the last I figured was about $.75 a round instead of $2 by buying retail for a lesser quality and accurate bullet. I still can't justify reloading for my 9mm Storm or .223 AR-15.

Fosgate,
It depends upon what you are doing with it. If you are shooting for the enjoyment of it, you are definately correct. It is tough to reload .223 ammo for what you can buy it in bulk for (and the fact that the damn Mini-14 dings the neck of each round as it spits it out). However, if you are taking off to go blast Skippy (that is, rockchucks, P-dogs, or ground squirrles), it is sometimes best to reload even if it cost a little more since you can get some additional accuracy out of your handloads when compared to factory rounds.

I can reload my .204 for about .35/ea which is pretty cheap compared to factory ammo. Plus, it is something that I enjoy doing.

Damn its tough finding bulk 223. Heard the next shoe to drop is the Gov't mandating ammo companies add chemicals to react and ruin gun powder after 18 months some people can't hoard it.

What? :confused: I am worried as hell about the Obama nation coming after our guns and ammo.... haven't heard that one though. Can you get some documentation on it? Just curious. I think they are gonna tax the chit out of ammo and require each casing to be stamped with a serial number...ridiculous! Then if you have ammo that is not stamped you are in violation of the law.

BTW, I am proud to be unpatriotic in this Obama Nation....got that from VBoost! :beer;

While you guys are stocking up. Remember, handguns are no good against the government. Besides, when the conflict starts, you'll want to switch to something a little more effective than a 9mm. Say maybe a IED.

So, stock up on knowledge. Investigate remote detonator technology. For example, how to amplify the cell phone speaker, to close a simple relay. Laser triggers, impossible to jam. ect.....

Learn how to make explosives. Learn how to control stepper motors for automated pointing systems. How to make remote detectors. Communications systems. How to take out an unmanned drone. How to spoof GPS signals with a sutalite.

Knowledge combined with bravery and manpower win wars.

Don't forget, the black ops program in the United States is huge. They are the ones you may end up against, not the standard "government".

VERY VERY good points! I am still in ther military so I can't say anything regarding what you just said.....but my knowledge will be made useful! I will slap you back with some green Wade, when I get off lockdown.
