groundhog or yanks ?

I heard Perry from Gordo's tried to head up on Monday and didn't even bother to unload because of lack of snow. I'll talk to him in the AM and get the full story and post tomorrow night.

I work at 3600' near Likely and we got about 2" of new snow today, which makes a grand total of 2" that is on the ground. Sure hope the snow will hurry up already! I couldn't find Perry to get the beta from him. I'll try again in the AM when he comes in.

Perry told me there was marginal snow to even ride the trail up. You'd have to take the Hampton trail if you were gonna head up, but he also said he's heading up Rememberance Day as well. I think I'll sit this one out for another couple of weeks.

altogether. more snow on the way up the trail than at the lake. just been to warm and with the rain it dont take long to melt. it needs to cool down fast. sick of waiting to ride

It's raining hard again tonight at 3600'. I doubt if it's cold enough to be snowing at Yanks since it's around 6c right now. Snow already dammit!!!

well just got home from Yank's... I was going to go sledding Sat. and Sun. but the snow up there wasn't great so I decided it wasn't worth it to stay the night for the conditions when I've got other things I could be doing at home. The trail up had enough snow on the way up but we were hittin' a lot more gravel on the way down cause there was a lot of sledders out Sat. considering the conditions. There was around 5 that went out ahead of us, then the 5 of us, then at least another 8 after us so the trail on the way down was pretty beat and we were hittin the gravel at the bottom of the trail. It wasn't terrible but you could hear the carbides running on the gravel pretty steady for short periods. There was enough snow up top to ride without too much worrying but you still had to be careful and there was still running/open water up top all over. It was drizzling all day up top too. Sun. the other 4 guys from my group are going to head up to Roundtop but it'll probably be much the same from what some of the other people were saying. Definitely need more snow but still a fun trip.

I'd guess maybe about 2 feet... maybe a bit more in areas but it was all hard/wet spring like snow. Enough to ride fairly worry free but rocks are still definitely on your mind. We didn't dig down or anything but just judging by the stream crossings about 2 feet give or take.

thinking of heading up to yanks on tuesday. anyone else planning a nov 11 ride? from what people are saying, there is some snow there. called the gas station and guy there said it was snowing. forecast shows snow for all week.
