Grooming extended...what would it take?

Is this a legal issue or just financial?
I know most of us are fine with paying 2-3X's more for our registration if it's a $$ deal. On years like this with good snow, what would it take to make this possible in the future?

It would be a nice option for sure. Over here, we actually had both snow and money to groom some more at several snow parks but State Parks directly stated NO when the groomers asked to make 1 more run on each of the locations... Sure would be nice to be able to make it happen in the future on good years like this:D:(

To change registration, I believe that would require state legislation changes. I would be more then happy to pay extra for more grooming. Unfortunately it would probably just make even more people stop paying for tabs... that really ticks me off.

Mostly a political and funding issue. Most years you would run out of $; this year the dry January-early February made for some leftover funds. You also have interagency issues with State Parks, USFS and Washington State DNR. The latter two control the land on which the grooming takes place; state parks funds the grooming. No simple answer.

This issue will become meaningless if the snowmobile registration numbers continue to drop. Those are the basis for all of our appropriated funds. As registrations drop, so will the funding amount for grooming.

In saying all this, damn it was rough last Sunday. My motrin funds are eating into my mod funds awful fast:face-icon-small-dis:face-icon-small-dis.

I would gladly pay more as well to keep the trails groomed.Just got back from GC...the trail up.........................SUCKS!!!
If any of you have a pregnant wife...THAT would be the place to take them to induce labor...EVERY 3 feet is a body slam.

Good snow up higher...and sunshine around 11:30 am

they won't raise the tabs because they are afraid that our great state would take the money for other stuff.

Motrin to Makers Mark might help. Just a thought.

I was wondering the same my self... I got tired of the trails at GC so I just called it a season about a month ago... Bummer though... I was actually hoping on doing a project on the trails for media and sending it to WSSA.

I won't pay a cent more till they hold the current groomers and plow drivers to there contracts... both have been nearly nonexistant were I ride. Countless complaints have gone unheard.

Extend the grooming, I'm waiting for them to start.

Have you even read their contracts? What locations are you talking about?

No I have not read the contract... I see your point... if it's a "once a week contract" the plow driver/groomer operater can plow monday and three feet of snow can fall

Wakepish and Ore creek , Ore creek grooming has been OK but the plowing sucks. Wakepish grooming seems to have been nearly nonexistant this year. Wakepish has been a whoop fest since December and they are getting to the "not worth it" point

your from the other side of the water. Is there good riding in the olys?? It sure looks like it from the water...

Good question, it sure looks killer from my boat. I know a large area up there is national park but there is still tons of ground up there. I asked a while ago on here if anyone road up there but never got an answer. I would do a scouting run but don't know the area at all... it would be cool to hook up with some one and go explore.
