Greenwater...

You honestly think they would listen??? One morning the FS ( kid could not even had been 19 ) closed the gate - and there were already a handful of vehicles at the end of the road in the normal sno-park. The road was easily passable. When you have someone that young that has probably never even towed a trailer making the decision - we're in trouble!
Gets real interesting when the Pierce County Sheriff's throw there weight around up there! One time they all parked their rigs and trailers in the only turn around area when the gate was closed. Even they did not want to ride pavement! Screwed it up for people turning around.

TNT then you sould let the FS how you feel they are the ones that made the road single use only no dual use so if the snow is bad enough that the averige idiot cant make it then they have to close the road and make so all can ride their agree with you but gov heads think diffrently.:faint:

I seen the kid your talking about up there in his street tire equipped Ford f150. Most of us were driving it before he was born. There is a chains required sign right when your coming out of enumclaw. I was one of the ones that got stuck up there behind the locked gate. I've been acquiring 5 gal buckets of sand from somewhere. There our large piles of sand just through the gate way. I'M NOT GETTING IT FROM THERE OR ANYWHERE OUT THERE.. Maybe I or we should find out if its possible to have them dump a few trucks full of sand at the turn around on the old road past the head. I had Rich, Dickinson trucking bring me a load of crushed for around $100-120. I don't know what sand costs but I do know the cal Portland quarry in dupont is running out of the fine sand for concrete. There's a new quarry in shelton where were starting to get sand.

The De Icer they use on the highways is 10 times more corrosive than salt water.

It's a good idea. A little sand would go a long ways. Even carry a few 5 gallon buckets in ones truck each time. It is really just the one hill going in that can be problematic. The other side of it usually gets the sun in the afternoon and melts a little. On the other hand - don't want to make it too easy for people!! Actuallly it is a matter of time before there is a bad accident on it and they close the gate all winter, or worse.

Maybe start a stock pile at the first gravel pit? It's pretty close to the 12%.

OpieBennette.

If my last 2 posts are both worthy of bad rep why don't you come out from behind mommy and daddys keyboard and explain why getting some sand up there is worthy of bad rep. If you have a better idea SPEEK UP! Or was it the driving comment? Really??
