Greeenwater grooming PI-- POOORR

I have been riding up in Greenwater and love the powder, I personally ride a Polaris and can get off the trail, maybe you should try a good sled. Not sure if you are a real rider or not, but do you bitch about everything??? Maybe you should try knitting, that way you can sit in a nice warm house and bitch that the wrong shows are on TV. The snow was awesome, don't blame the Groomer if you can't ride it is not his fault!!! My sport which I Love you take the good with the bad, I have only seen good up at Greenwater, but then again I am not a whiny baby!!!! If you want a nice flat surface take up Ice Skating and leave the riding to people who enjoy a challenge!!!

The most stupid post I've seen in a while ..

Guess thats what i get for riding an apex and whining:face-icon-small-sho lets see 3 different areas in the state in 3 weekends and they all sucked. New rule i dont even need to drive up to a meeting, all grooming shall be done on Friday and Saturday night when most of us are riding the next day. Ill give the week day folks a Wed night to keep the peace.
Now that was easy! Chit aint rocket science:face-icon-small-win

SOME PEOPLE REALLY DONT KNOW HOW THE GROOMERS WORK,

It's not the equipment, they have a tiller and bar and a good piece of equipment, , when they groome its great, but it just doesnt hold up to all the sleds, greenwater virtually get no set up time, there are people up there every day riding, Satruday morning it was great, and by the afternoon is sucks, and you blame the groomer ?? you dont have a clue, it only takes about 20 sleds and the trail is tore up beyond recognition, Dont get me wrong I'm not sticking up for them ( well maybe a little ) but greenwater has not been gettng real cold lately thus the trails tear up easily and fast. I think the best solution is to change the grooming schedule, TO
WEDNESDAY,, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY nights, I think this would appeal to most riders, If you ride sunday with out any grooming saturday night it's ugly ,,, I agree,

Another point is quit closing the gate so freakin' low - absolutely no reason for it. I realize the FS may be part of that decision-making process but , you both suck at it!!

a) would be less to groom and less whoops to deal with , and

b) there would be less people going up as a lot do not know how to actually drive over the by-pass, and won't

win - win

:rant:UN know I read a lot of bitches on here and about to start my own been riding up here steady the last 10 15 years and today was the worst I've ever seen it ! I don't know how the h-ll R&R grooming gets away with it but they do a piss poor job up here its in their back yard but yet can' seem to do the job they are contracted to do.We haven't had a lot of snow to groom in dec and jan an when we do have snow they sit on there butts or on vacation sledding, Don't wanna here im broke down heard it to many times they used all the excuses. If U cant do the job let someone else do it. That groomer hasn't moved in days by the pile of snow on it.Mad my grooming dollars are being robbed. And I'll bet im not the only one complaining! I'll stop now but have a lot more to say.

Well I hope people got their point across that when you rode it wasn't groomed. Cat wasn't broke, groomer was NOT on vacation, you just simply picked the wrong day to ride, but way to start a good rant... I agree not grooming Saturday nights is stupid, should be groomed wed, fri sat. And if that was the worst you have seen in 10-15 years, wow...Next time get up early....really early at green water!!!!..... And pick a day when it's groomed... "Groomer hasn't moved in days" your mistaken. Sorry u had a bad day of riding from the groomer, I hate bumps too. Ilbet your right your not the only one complaining...but you rode a Sunday when it wasn't groomed, sry... "Have a lot more to say"? Groomer Meetings, snojammers club... Those two are a good start, don't hide on here.

Huh

The money he removes from his wallet every year gives him that right.
What an ignorant statement.

I used to ride Greenwater a couple times per week, heck... I learned how to ride there in the late 80s and I also QUIT riding there because the grooming IS A JOKE there...
Always has been always will be with the way it's being run.

My brother and I were the ones who cut the "Trail" in right after the slide so that we could still ride up there, he was always at the meetings because he lives out there.
He got to know the rangers and you groomers very well.
He wasn't impressed.
You like to make sure Clem can have smooth trails to sell a sled on but you really couldn't give two chits about the rest of the riding public.
That place sucks for grooming, As bad as Baker even and Baker only has one way in with twice the riders.
Get your collective chit together and learn how to groom and pack snow so that it will set up and last.
Quit blaming your ineptness on funds, weather, or whatever lame excuse you find... Get some real equipment that packs the trail hard. The only time I ever saw your groomers on the snow is when they were broken down and THAT happened a lot.

NOW my rant is done...

You have no idea what you are talking about... don't even know where to begin trying to understand what you wrote, and not sure if you are you are involved or your brother. And Ilbet you were the only two that made sure the "trail" was cut in.. He was always at the meetings.. He lives our there.. He wasn't impressed.. Learn to groom and pack snow... Real equipment... ....

You know "exactly" what's going on... You post was helpful...

I'm lost on what you wrote...
My brother and I WERE the ones that took saws and tools up the hill to punch a trail in after the road washed out... Regardless of that...
The point I made was this, because clearly it was lost on you since you felt it necessary to respond with a negative rating.. (Ouch, hurt me newbie)
The poster was told he had no right to state anything negative about the grooming at GW...
Yes, yes he does as long as he's paying for it.. Get over yourself and BTW.
I'll do a little negative whacking myself but mine are going to sting just a little more. :mad2:

Alright... where do we start...

Now for a little rant of my own....
If all you do is go riding and then get home to post your pictures and video and get on a forum somewhere and complain about how bad the trails were...well quit yer bitchin'!!

GET INVOLVED!! JOIN WSSA!! GO TO A GROOMING MEETING!! GET INFORMED!!

I know sitting behind a keyboard is way easier to do than to actually go out and try to effect a change. But if you are not involved than I honestly believe you have no right to complain!!

(rant off)

See YOU at the next grooming meeting!!
Ask for snowrider I will be there... WILL YOU??

well I had to work late so couldn't make the meeting, What was said?

It's not a secret and yes I am also a member of WSSA.
We can't all be available to attend the groomer meetings.
Start holding the meetings in Monroe and I'd be happy to go and bring back a report for all us keyboard whiners.
Until then, speak up... What was reported?

Grooming Council Meeting Notes

Grooming and plowing funds should last through the end of March.

With the warmer weather we will try to open up the bypass road by the weekend and have the Sno-Park at Pyramid Creek. (This would be great for our grooming dollars due to it adding 3 hours of grooming time for the "road" that can be applied to trails instead) This will be weather dependent, no promises but it is our goal.

Grooming schedule was Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the most part with some Saturdays thrown in once a month. The Council has decided to change the schedule to Wednesday, Friday, Saturday to try to keep the trails in better condition for the weekend riders. However, that will leave 3 days in a row that the trails will not be groomed and, weather depending, will make it harder to keep maintained.

Thanks to all who showed up to the meeting and I understand not everyone's schedule allows them to attend. Our next, and most likely last, seasonal meeting will be April 7th @ Enumclaw Powersports @ 7PM. If you have questions or concerns please feel free to PM me.

Thank you for giving it a try, I'd rather ride on any day mid week but it's getting harder. Most of the riders are on sat and sun. We don't hate the groomer we just hate the bumps.:face-icon-small-coo

Have a whiskey it will help the bumps.

Wow, that was an impressive bit of back and forth, freaken entertaining. As a rider, the grooming can always be better. The groomer trying to maximize profit might make less of a cut to save fuel and time (money). Even the smallest bump left behind eventually turns into a bigger bump and adds more washboards that turn into bumps that turn into moguls. There is no standard for grooming however and I am surely not the expert. As long as we (riders) pay a fee and whether it be timing or breakdowns or whatever, have to ride moguls, we will bitch and we have every right to. Bottom line is, it can always be better and I don't have to, or have the time to go to some damn meeting to say so. Call it hiding behind the keyboard if you must (and I do ride a Polaris, dip sht) these are just the facts of life. So groomer keep doing a better job and we will continue to bitch. I would rather be complaining about this than hear everyone whine about no snow. Where the hell is Greenwater anyways.

It really doesn't have anything to do with not making a deeper cut to save fuel or time, it has to do with preserving the snow pack. I could go out and cut the tops off the moguls everytime but pretty soon you would be riding dirt. The idea is to fold the snow back onto the trial and under the cat so the tiller can do it's job. I will make the same offer here as I did at the Grooming Council meeting....anyone who wants to go ride in the groomer and get a first hand look at what is going on out there just shoot me a PM and we will arrange it.

Im game for a slow motion tour.

Just baffles me that we are having a low snow year and the groomer only has enough funding to get through this month. Enlighten me please.

Option A and B

What about this for an idea: Lets get the limp wristed lackeys at the USFS to get off their asses and actually do something. All they do is drive around and waste our money, they don't manage the forests, they don't sell wood. What the hell do they do this time of year anyway? The same thing they do all year round, go meet up somewhere in the woods for a circle jerk where no one can see what they do. I know they have snowmobiles and drags, sell some of the vehicles that just sit in the parking lot and buy a snowcat. I know WORK and GOVERNMENT don't go hand in hand but maybe they could be co-groomers. Keep the current groomers to set the pace for the Forest Service drones and get twice the grooming for the same dollars. Option B is a little simpler, sell all that crap in the equipment yard at the USFS, tell the employees to go find a real job and put that money toward something productive like trail grooming. Cheers.

Currently: Waiting for Sidhil to have higher aspirations than a Viper

Not gone. Just better things to do on the weekend, like ride. I am almost a little hurt Sidehil, that is if it wasn't coming from a guy who's dream sled is a Yamaha, that's like the old man trail special. I can see you have been a Yama-lover for a long time, that's like going down with the sinking ship right? Yamaha gambled on sleds trending toward 4-stroke and they lost, mainly because of the weight issue. It should be Yamaha Boat Anchor instead of Viper. What bent you though? I couldn't tell from your extensive thought filled posts. You said Ski, don't just leave which I thought was funny. I will say I hear Yamaha makes a mean piano.
