Can't think of any "canisters" that hold oil besides the oil filter. More information of problem and truck or a pic would help figure out what it is. You can't be leaking oil leaking out of the injector or lift pump.

oil leaking

its just a pcv canister, im guessing this truck is a prior 03 model, your supposed to take that little bottle off every oil change and empty and wipe it out, or do like most do and put a hose to where it comes out and run it down by your front diff and forget about it.

Yup Drip it on the Dif Like the 03's on up do:eek:

.

My 99 always seemed to have more blowby with high mileage on the oil. Seemed to get a lot better right after an oil change. My bottle was off, but i put it back on as it would drip on the driveway, just emptied or cleaned it out occasionally.

Either extend the hose down to the axle, or put some paper towels in the bottom of the canister with steel wool on top of them to act as a oil/air seperator, and clean it at every oil change.

The worst part of that little bottle on the front of the engine? Go down a 20*+ grade...oil WILL come out that breather go ALL OVER the radiator and the fan and the fan will throw it EVERYWHERE! Then you've got a real mess. I managed it 3 times on my '01...what a PITA.
