got my butt kicked by a turbo apex, what a machine

went for a day ride the other day, picked up my buddy from leftbrige and his other buddy

the other buddy had a 07 turboed apex 174" 2.5 track running 20lbs boost... i found out latter this sled took 2nd place at the iron shootout(approx 350hp... and yes i beleive it)

we went to corbin and had the sunnyiest day one could only dream of, there was no sleds marks and great setup powder... if anyone knows of elliot lake, there is two straight up narrow shoots to the top of the mountain on the south side

in the last 25 years of riding i know of only two guys that made it, and that was late in the spring

my machined worked better than ever and i was very happy to make it about two/thirds of the narrow shoot

as for the apex it was a whole new ball game, he would hit my highmarks and holes at least with still 20mph and still picking up speed, his sled was something else, i also took it up there and could not beleive the power this dam thing had, well it is a little scarry climbing such a vertical edge with so much track speed and the front end just getting higher and higer

his sled could of had a weight package put to the front of the sled to keep it down.... and it still would of went over

as for tree riding and other stuff, the xp had the advantage.... but i only wish i could have the money to have both, that apex was a killer sled in the point and shoot department

my buddy had a m1000 and he was a ways behind mine, to show how mine ran

apex

no doubt it would beat you, and the nytros boosted are working killer also with a little diet from factory, hey fred hows the xp treating you, no helicopter rides over driveshaft spinning, or how did that peeled off lightweight track thing turn out for you, all i can say is im really glad i sold mine the thing was a total pos with no help from brp. Good to hear you kind of biased anyway, not convinced about the m1000 thing but every sled is different.Have a good one.

as for the drivshaft, i had it welded a few weeks ago and hope to have it never looked at again, and the track has had no other problems since that paddle went missing, so i am still running it... and yes BRP is not taking the care they should be of their loyal customers:mad:

as for mine, it is working real sweet, the apex rider said he has seen no other xp climb like mine(never told him it was a BB:D), he drove it and like the feel and power as well in the trees, just does not have the grunt his does in the point and pin department( it's only half the3 power so that makes sense)

and the m1000 never had a chance, we did a few point and shoots together i i would be at least 100 feet higher in the deep powder over him, probally running 10mph faster up the hill, and he said his machine was running strong

my neighbor has a xp turboed running around the 250hp and he says he has stayed with the turboed apexs, might have to do it to the BB and see what it can do... think the 174"with that much power is a must!!

engine

good to hear your engine is working well, there is a local guy in edmonton that has a 880 kit for the 800r also and was dynoed at 174 with twin pipes, pretty respectable, but i am dissapointed in doo and decided to give someone else my money going for the boosted nytro fix now:D i bought 3 new sleds this year and my m1000 and nytro have been flawless, doo can keep their sleds till they learn that reliability is as important and weight. I really like my nytro it has great ergos and a total fun sled to ride with 0 problems to date. Take care> D

any idea whos pipes they are, and if i was looking for a good reliable dyno who would you recomend??

heard neil at neils power pipes, but that is about it!!

love to see what this puppy has and where the sweet spots are, have a cpi pipe comming and they clame some big numbers

dyno

fred the shop it mots machining in st albert, and he tested it with the crank shop twinsn he has a real dyno also, that was the way i intended to go before i got a xp lemon. lol

You almost sound suprised. WTF did you think would happen? How did he place second in the BIS? I don't remember that sled even being there and there was no placing. Oh ya, take your Doo chat back where it belongs. LOL

Dorkface??? What are you 12? Please turbo that POS, I won't be hiding. Hopefully you don't smoke a couple pistons and a truck full of belts before I send you running back to the Doo Forums baby boy. LOL You still have not explained this so called 2nd at the BIS.

dorkface, i got a feeling i do not have to turbo the xp to take you off, maybe a 500 fancooled will do the trick:D:D

as for the second place, he said randy swanson took first, have no clue who that is... but let me guess... you do

let me guess, your the guy in the bar always flapping his lips how well your sled runs... i got it right, did i not:D

maybe you want to race the peice of crap dodge as well...

Dis sounds liek an iternut challange ta me. Show me da hill and wherez to point duh camera.... :D

When are you XP guys gonna get it? I really do not have to brag my sled up, unlike yourself. You should read some of your posts, I was faster than this sled...so and so could not keep up...everyone was impressed with my sled...bla bla bla. If you really want to see how slow your POS XP is, let me know when your going to Revy next.

Fredw, do you think the turbo guys sit around and watch the 2 stroke guys play in the trees all day ? Give it a break already, i bet half the guys in this forum can ride as good or better than you in the trees on any given day riding their big heavy 4 stroke turbo's . The XP may work decent, but it is not the end all be all.
