Good sled for 4 to 6k

I am looking for a reliable easy to ride sled in this price range. I don't climb much mostly just messing around in the trees and lots of side hilling. Have been looking at m7/m8, a rev, or a 700 dragon/rmk possibly an xp with s36 upgrade. I am not brand specific, just want a good reliable fun and easy to ride sled. Any input is much appreciated.

Sorry should have been more specific.. Just looking for input on power and handling aspects. Does one work better in the powder, turn, side hill ect.... Hard buying when you cant really ride and feel how they handle. I should also add I am leaning toward a 15?" in track. Hoping people can share there experience with some of these models...

Find a good one that is solid and in good cond. and put some seat time on it all the sleds you listed will work great if you put the time in on them and get used to the way the sled handles/set it up for they way you ride. Just grip it and rip it
Cheers

If your new to the sport its not going to matter what you get, you'll just have to learn to ride whatever you buy. Every brand sled has its own riding characteristics, some people like certain things out of a sled and some people don't. Cats and the newer polaris's seem to be easier for most people to ride and take less rider input whereas the Ski-doos take a little more effort, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Buy something and start logging miles and you'll figure out what you like and don't like about the sled. The best way to be not be brand loyal, then you can ride what you think is best and like. I've personally owned polaris's, ski-doos and now i'm on a cat and love it, but I also loved my polaris and ski-doo...You'll figure it out

If it is something you plan on riding for a couple years, I would recomend a low mile stock '07-'08 M8. They are everywhere for around $4-5k. Ditch the mech. reverse diamond drive for a BDX light (about a grand) and it will last forever.

A dragon or an M would suit you best for the riding you want to do!!

There is a lot of 07 to 09 RMK's and Dragon's in your price range!!

You should be able to find an M7 or M8 in this price range, these are great sleds in the trees.

Another great choice would be a 2007-2008 700 RMK Dragon, great machines that should be around that price point.

In my mind, it kind of depends on how you feel on the machine. When some people get on one they feel more comfortable than on another regardless of what they hear from people. I would look at an M7, M8, 07-08 700 Dragon, or a 04-06 Summit. They are all rider friendly in my mind. Not too tipsy or hard to maneuver in the snow. Just my .02.

As everyone has said, there is a lot of deals in that price range right now.

I've had a summit, nytro mtx and just picked up an 09 700 155 rmk. I was able to get a great deal on the sled close to the bottom of your range.

I personally didn't like the way the summit felt. I felt I could more easily control the beast of the mtx than the summit. Others feel the exact opposite. decided to try an RMK this year due to the deal I got.

Each has their own pluses and minuses. If you're open on what to get, find the best deal and go with it.

Not sure where your from, but I always suggest that you go rent a couple different sleds than make your choice. To me not only does functionality for the specific rider count it's the bond between the machine. I personally enjoy the look of my sled swell as how it rides. Have fun!

If you can get your hands on an m8 09-10 then I'd grab one of those. The powerclaw is a great track for trees, climbing, sidehilling, etc. A little bit hairy coming downhill some times but all in all a very good sled. Lots of power and very good handling. If you go this way though I would get a new set of skis. Stock skis are crap.
