ive had this problem for awhile and been too lazy to really address it. it only happens at low elevations, and no i do not have any cracks in my carb boots. on my way up to get to the real snow, it will do it untill i start gettin high up in elevations. im running a 400 main, and i have no idea how a person gets to the pilots with these carbs. and also, it will idle high, and if i hit the throttle quick, it will come down.

Sounds like it might be running a bit lean. Have you checked the plugs at low elavations. Getting to the pilots is easy. If the plugs are fine you can adjust the idle with the fuel and air screws on the carb.

if i want a lower idle id loosen them right? and people have told me it might be an issue with my pilots being possibly pluged up with stuff. how do i get to them?

Look at the carb section should get you on the right track. Wouldn't be a bad idea to start off cleaning your carbs.

thanks, and yeah i pulled them off just to clean them and so far they are spotless. not a hint of gunk or dirt in the bowl or top by the needle.
