Today on Wolf Creek, We had a couple of new 2010 M8'S. I got a chance to ride one of them. The engine is a lot faster revving and snappier compared to the 09. You guys who stepped up and bought the 2010 are in for a REAL treat. I think this could be the year the cat will beat the xp:D

You're right. I just took mine out for the first time today and it was amazing. What a strong motor. It snaps off the line and just keeps pulling. I rode a Crossfire 7 before this one and so glad I upgraded. This was just trail and ditch riding here in Iowa, so can't wait to take it out west and really test it.

What do you mean beat the xp, heck the 09's would beat the xp's.

Yep :) My 2010 hcr runs very strong. I guess it was worth the wait for the snow. It revs very quickly and holds rpms quite well, even in 4 ft of fresh. I really liked how the 09 ran, but the 10 seems to be that much better. I haven't sat on the seat yet, but really like how much storage it has and the tall, narrow, short design is very nice. The oil use seems to be way down from previous years also. I've put 80 miles on mine and the light hasn't came on yet.(need to run the cat oil out to switch to amsoil) Should know in another week or so how belt life compares to previous M's. Logger, want me to post that pic of where you were stuck today?

First pic is what it took to get Loggers sled unstuck. Without the turbo, he wouldn't have ever made it that far. To be fair I suppose I should post one of me stuck. Second pic is what the 90 duro track on the HCR will do! Standing in the trench, the top of it was even with my head.

Hopefully I can make it down somtime soon, that looks like a blast !:)

Maiden Voyage on my '10 HCR yesterday and WOW!! Didn't get much over half throttle though. This sled is a hand full and is only going to get better. Didn't miss my 162" track and love everything about it except the clutching needs a little work. Kudos to Cat!!

Wart, what kind of rpm's were you seeing at half throttle and what weights are you running in your primary? What elevation were you riding? I was seeing 8000 rmp's at half throttle on mine! Consistantly 8250 @ full throttle. Due to our snow, there was absolutely no way to run it under half throttle much! I was seeing this between 10000 and 11000 feet. I have cutler adjustable weights in mine. 60-70 gram with the 3.10 gram set screw at the very heel for 63.10 grams, obvioulsly. Everything else is 100% stock. What numbers are others seeing with what altitude and setups?

I'm riding 9,000'+. I'm still running the stock weights to break in new motor, I believe they are 68g's. Got a few miles on now (64) so been pushing it up to WOT for short periods. Seeing around 7600 rpm's. I did install the shift assist for now and didn't see much change in RPM's but does shift way smoother and holds RPM's well. The chart under the hood says we should be running 63g weights at our altitude. What RPM's should we be pulling at WOT anybody know for sure?? We don't have much snow to really rip it up right now, any suggestions? I'm in Canon City, have sled will travel.

I Want in!
