GOLDEN,Vandalism?

Yes there has been lots of people e-mailling sled society of golden from snow mud.com and they are taking action towards having people stay longer and watch out for more rcmp patrols is what i was told.

i've been to quartz a few rides now & silent pass as well yesterday with no break-ins!!!! hopefully guy got hurt bad enuff or gets caught & we can all ride safe & know our ****e is safe also.

I think alot of people on here are missing the point, as I posted earlier in this thread expecting and hoping that the police might follow up a lead or two and catch these guys Will no work!!. The RCMP are just as helpless as we are, as I said earlier, last year all of our trucks were hit at silent pass and they caught the turds in Canmore in a stolen truck full of stolen property and they still had to release them the next day, before some of us were even home to change the locks. The sad truth is if they are not danger to society they can not hold them. I n this case the puke refused to give up his accomplice's so in the end we got back some of our gear and thats all, their still in business.

The only way to control this is through some kind of prevention, I have spoken to a number of sledders and most would pay extra to have someone sit at the staging area.

Everytime we talk about riding in golden no one wants to take the chance

someone from golden area needs to talk to the business's in town and make them understand we are not asking them to pay for this, but this problem is beginning to be a PR nightmare for the community. people need to realize that its not any longer to drive to boulder mountain in revy than it is to go from calgary through parsons and then down 40 km of trail at silent pass. We love golden but we need some help making this work.

was out on sat, Jan 12 had seen the R.C.M.P in the parking lot. nothing was touched, our buddy broke down at 11:00A.M. he sat in his truck untill we drove down later that day, he said nothing was happening,every thing was good at quartz.

Was in Gorman both sat and sun had a wicked weekend!! Rumour has it that the kid the sliced himself up was caught by the RCMP

We had our buddy Big Jim sitting in the trailer watching movies all day while we rode, I hoped the little fags would have showed up to find 6'5" 265# Jim waiting for them. This is going to be happening quite a bit throughout the spring, Jim doesnt like to ride everyday. When he comes out it wont be his dick he's holding in his hand either.

The sliced up kid was caught by the rcmp? What happened, did he turn himself in? Confess? Break into a cop car with 2 cops in it? Because when you say "Caught", it almost makes it sound like the rcmp did something, and that would go against everything I have known about them.
Last year a gas station's video of our buddy's cards being used by the thieves that broke into our truck at Gorman wasn't enough to get them to act. Yes, they refused to come even look at the video. They were far too busy following you until you do something wrong. Why catch thieves when you can ticket the people who actually PAY YOUR WAGES.

I'm not sure what it's like elsewhere, but that's just about exactly right in Golden............. they're too busy with speed traps or other BS to follow up on a good lead. I'm pretty embarrased with them in Golden to say the least!!!!!

Has there been as much in the way of vandalism this year. I know that there is always going to be theft, especially being on the trans canada. The theft can be gaurded against a bit but i am always a little uneasy about leaving a truck and trailer to get vandalized. Also is there any hotel parking lots with security cams in town. If not which places seem to get hit the most?

Not sure, but I don't think any of the Hotels in Golden have the security cameras in their lots. The only vehicle theft that i have heard is the one this past month at the Rim. The one down close to the bar(Mary's) would be the worst I would think(but don't know honestly)

I would have thaught the places along the main hiway would be worse. I have stayed at the travelodge downtown and was able to park right outside the room and had no problems.
