Rode out at Silent Pass yesterday and it snowed abit of new white stuff during most the day. Exellent snow in the trees and ok snow out on the hills.
Staging at about Marker #21. Trail was in good shape in the morning, but sure got beat up during the day. Trail through the trees and at the falls was in reasonable shape and not all rutted out.
REMINDER TO ALL: PLEASE DO NOT PARK YOU RIGS IN THE PLOWED OUT AREAS INTENDED FOR TURNAROUND SPOTS. I BELIEVE THE INTENT FOR THESE PLOWED AREAS IS FOR TRUCK/TRAILER RIGS TO HAVE AN AREA FOR MANOUEVERING AND GETTING TURNED AROUND SO THEY CAN GET PARKED ALONG THE ROAD LIKE THE REST OF US AND POINTED FOR THE WAY OUT.
NO, I DON'T DRIVE A BIG RIG. JUST HAVE A TRUCK AND DECK, BUT DID NOTICE IT WAS A PAIN FOR THOSE PULLING TRAILERS THAT SHOWED UP WHILE WE WERE UNLOADING.
As for my post on the Quartz update, I thought I'd mention that I was in a group of 3 riding around in the trees all day, not out on the big pulls. Just mentioned it in my post for those that look for that particular riding area update in the conditions report
I do read my CAC updates daily and minimize unecessary risk.

Rode Gorman yesterday with SylvanLaker, we were first up and made fresh tracks into both Holt and Lang. Golden is in much need of snow after this weekend.
Talk about a bunch of douche bags, there were guys hitting the big chutes just past gorman lake with the rest of their group sitting directly below ... great decision especially with avy conditions rated high

A big thx goes out to T-Bone, for hooking up with us and showing us Silver Mines..... Heck and we didn't even get broken into. First time riding Golden and loved it...
nice to put some faces to the avatars here S'Laker. was my pleasure hitting the hills with you & Dycker & glad to hear you had a safe trip out here. sorry not more pow for ya though......... maybe we'll get to those sacred spots in Revy you mentioned on Friday eh????

what day were you guys at Hope?? I was there on Saturday. I went to Silent on friday and sunday..
how was Gorman? was it pretty cut up/lots of people?
you may have seen me buzzing around hope in my vibrant yellow and blue summit Xrs. (i think i was the only one there with one) you see that massive group of cats there on sat.? it was like puzzyfest 2008! had to be 15 of them together.
when you goin up next?

yea, we actually parked further away when we went back to silent on sunday, just for the fact that some guys don't realize that a 4 place can't turn on a dime. seriously, those plowed turnaround areas aren't that big, even with no one parked along both sides. but when we finally got out of the parking lot it was worth it to pound out our favorite areas.
