Golden Snow Conditions???

If anyone's going to be coming through Golden to Calgary, and has a spot for a sled, there's $50 in it for whoever can pick my sled up from MotorTech to bring it anywhere in Calgary by Sunday morning (Feb 3rd).

My cell's 403-605-5886.

Otherwise, I'll be making a special trip to get it.

Thanks,

Graham

So G, what caused your sled to be hospitalized?

Can't help you out, not heading out until next weekend

Where is a good place to Stay in Golden. Has to have a hot tub. Thinking of heading out that way next weekend. not to familiar with the area but want to give it a go.

I agree with PC, golden rim is our choice too, in almost every room you can view your rig out the window, has a pool, h tub, wicked waterslide that goes 90mph, not bad eats ...

Thanks, I might have a comrade helping me out on this one.
I just had the sled get it's maintenance at an Alberta dealer, then rode Golden with Portgrinder for my 1st ride. The RPM's suddenly dropped to 7000 when climbing and didn't come back. I left the sled at the dealer in Golden. I called later and they say the carb boot was torn a little, and something broke in the primary clutch. A $950 bill later and I here I am. :( I hope it runs good next ride.

Ya G, I know about the rpm issue, I was there, this is Reid. It turned out mine had the same problem. I also ended up rebuilding my primary, but she is running like a top now

Did anybody ride golden this week? updates?

As for a Hotel room in golden I prefer Mary's By the Hour downtown. Nice and close to downtown if you feel like chasing ski bunny's. Since sled bunnys don't seem to exist.

I think I might be passing through Golden on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday (depends on when this job is finished) if anyone is interested in hooking up for a ride.

Inter Recreational Sport Dating? I've never heard such a thing! How could you betray your own kind - Traitor??!! Back in my day we would never date someone of that "sport". What is the world coming too???

LMAO! What's your pick up line "Hey baby, wanna go for a 'ride'?"

How about "Do you wash your ski pants in Windex? Becuz I can see myself in them."

Has Anybody Been Riding The East Quartz Area? When You Ride Into Quartz, At The Y And Hang A Left Has Anyone Been There This Year Yet?

We were there about a month ago but came in from Gorman/Lang. Not sure if there is enough snow this year so far to get up through the creek from the Quartz side unless it has been filled in by an avy. That's why I don't like going that way, real terrain trap. It's a short stretch but you wouldn't even see the slide coming from down in that creek.

was in on wednesday, very tracked up but it was snowing when we left.

East Quartz

Made a few attempts at going up the creek a month or so ago. Water was still open at the bottom and was able to sidehill for about half a km before somehow turning around and coming back down. Didn't make it up, and didn't get wet, but came close. Not ready yet. Better off to come in from Gorman... Avi danger is much higher in this zone due to low traffic volumes and larger more exposed slopes and run out zones... Put your man boots on, and know your ****, it's big in there with real risks.

we're going out to golden/revey/tba on the 8th if you want in Greg/Graham. or if anyone else is around.

Rode silent on fri, LONG trail in, not to bad snow, rode quartz today, awesome snow, 2-3ft fresh all day. Snowin a little when we left.

Quartz

Had an amazing day at Quartz on Friday.
Only 30 people around, and out there, that means you see no one alllllll day. Lots of new snow, and like always, stability was solid in the main zones! Light broke through right at the end of the day to send us all home with smiles on our faces! yeeeehaaaaaaaaa

We rode Silent on Saturday, parked at 17km. Trail in was super smooth. There was about 6-8 inches of fresh over Sledhead88's tracks from Friday. Light came and went but there was some real good untouched, deep powder in the back bowl that seemed to hold the clouds apart and we had fun playing in it. Needed the spare gas that day.

Not as many people riding this weekend, not sure why.

05 revs or older, high mileage? check your primary bushings including the spring cap, Graham my parts list was almost the same as yours except I had to replace the whole sliding half ($$$$$), had just replaced ramps and rollers at the end of last season and missed the sloppy spring cap bushing, change primary bushings early and save!!!!!
