Generators

Looking at buying a small generator for my trailer and was wondering what others were using?
Found a ETQ 3500 watt generator for about the same price as a Honda 2000i generator.
Anyone know anything about the ETQ generators?
Thanks for any insight/help.

I don't know about the etq, but i have two honda 2000is and they are great super quite. I think the cheaper one would work for you but they aren't going to be as quite as the yamaha or hondas. I was thinking about going the cheap route till we went camping with somebody that did go the cheap route and man was that thing loud. Out of 5 people in our area with generators 3 hondas 1yamaha and i don't no the brand of the other one but the one with the loud cheap generator were the only ones with trouble. So i think sometimes you get what you pay for. Plus what do you all want to run in your trailer? If it is just lights and charging the battery you could get away with one honda 2000. I only use one quit a bit it will run the furnace lights basically everything you need, but if you want to run ac you need the connect the other up.

I also have one of the Honda EU2000 and EU6500.
Both are VERY nice, quiet, reliable generators!
Wouldn't hesitate to buy another of either of them.

Thanks for the information so far.
Generator needs to run two electric heaters, plus lights, radio, and be able to charge batteries. With that said and from what I've found a 2000 watt won't be able to run all of those at the same time. Now Honda has a companion for the 2000i, but price on it is a little higher then the regular 2000i, so with them connected you have around 3600 watts and twice the price.
As for the noise level, from what I've read the ETQ generator is 60db's and the Honda 2000 is 59db's so their noise level is almost the same.
Want the generator to be on the small size, no big roll around ones as the space in the trailer is limited.
Honda and Yamaha make excellent generators, but sometimes the dollar plays a BIG role in what you want and what you can afford.

I use the Honda 3000 W. Great generator that will run anything you need to run. The most important is the electric start. Even an easy starting honda 2000 is miserable at 0. The electric start just fires up. Maybe a little on the big size though.

Bought a Generac with 3250 watts continuous. Nice and quiet. But not quiet as a honda. For the price I had paid. I can put up with some noise. Has more than enough power for what I need. Can run the furnace and everything in the kitchen of our house, excludeing the stove.

Thanks for the information.
Priced a Honda 3000 watt generator and compared price to the ETQ 3500 watt generator and the Honda is over twice the price. Noise level according to the brochures is within a 3 dbs of each other, so they are very close to the same noise level. Honda may or may not be a better unit, but like other items, you're paying alot for the name.
