How many have geared their 2012 pro 163 down one tooth? How does it work compared to stock gearing? I have talked to a couple guys about this and have ridden with one and it out climbs mine by quite abit. What clutch weights at 6-8k elevation with the gear change?

2011 Pro 800 155 geared to 18-43 w/ 60 wts. Ride mostly arount 7000' to 9000'. Over 2000 miles on orig. belt. Pulls great in powder and in trees. No top end on trails, but who cares about trails. Good luck

Go two teeth.. you'll love it.
same clutching maybe a touch more
it will help with your belt life too...:face-icon-small-coo

Are you talking two teeth on the top (small) sprocket? Will I need to replace the chain? That seams like alot. Thanks guys.

I went 19/43 on my 12 163, use stock chain. I haven't changed weights at all, although pulling about 8300 in heavy snow this weekend. I'm #300 geared up, mediocre rider, this gearing works great for me. More forgiving in the trees, pulls great on the bottom, clutches running cool.

'12 Pro with P.A. head. 19/46 gearing and some clutch work. Much more responsive when on and off the throttle. Belt in perfect shape after 500 miles so far.

Troys wife is going to take the top gear out if he keeps being a knucklehead!!
How does that gearing sound Troy?

Or should I call you Traction Troy LOL :>'
