Fricken Ipod and Itunes question......

Has anyone used Winamp for managing your music library. I got chatting with a girl at the grocery store about this. She said it is a million times better than Itunes. Apparently you can download it for free........and it comes with a plugin that allows you to load music onto your ipod.

I have used it for recoding of .flac files, but not much else. It is a little easier, as you can manipulate the view a lot better then I-tunes. I didn't get too far into it, as I have a lot of music, and a lot of it with really bad info on the files. I didn't feel like re-organizing / renaming everything. Lots of people back at school liked to use it, as they thought it was easier.

You are correct, I believe you can use winamp to control your ipod. I believe you are just using the ipod similar to an external hard drive, in that you manipulate it how you want, with what you want.

As always, let your fingers do the walking....

:beer;

winamp downloads...

winamp how to...

Just a question...

So, just wondering what do you guys hate so much about I-tunes?

Is it the categorization of the music? 90% of my music is original CD's, either my own or borrowed from friends. I can't think of an easier way to manage music.... sure the ripped crap off of the net gets miscategorized, but I just paste the info and hit next on the info window.

The biggest thing I hate, is how hard it is to sub-categorize things. Like in Windows media player........if I want to listen to Soundgarden, I can do that and randomly listen to all of their albums. In Itunes, I have to separately create a playlist for each artist if I want to do this. Plus, I find it much harder to create a playlist in Itunes than Windows media player.

Biggest difference is that WMP is WAYYYYYY more intuitive than Itunes. You put someone who has never used either program on them and I guarantee the guy on WMP is going to be miles ahead.

Ok Ok you don't have to yell....LOL

I just go in to artists, while playing on my ipod, and play all of soundgarden... is that what you want to do?

Yeah, the ipod is great. Its just when you are trying to listen to tunes on your computer. I guess its not that big of a deal though because I usually just throw my ipod into the dock on my big stereo.

I was just surprised that apple would use such a bush league program.

Hmmm, in I-Tunes, along the top of the window, there is genre, artist and album, I just choose the artist, then click on control, then shuffle. viola!

or I just play in order.

I still am not sure what is so terrible..

I also like the genius, you can compare other bands that have the same style music.

So let's get technical....WHERE on the hard drive does I-tunes/I-pod put the music. I can't find a folder with say...280 songs on it. Can't find a folder with a single song on it.
