Fox, Raptor, or Exit shocks

Just Ordered Full Raptor Package

I am excited and nervous. I hope they work as good as I have read.

I am a big Guy so nervous about the performance a bit I will be sure to post my thoughts once I have ridden them. I know this Stock Walker Evans on my New Pro Rmk are not working.

They would have to be damn good to trash the Walker Evans on my Assault and spend $2k. Wouldn't it be better to try and get the stock Walkers revalved/resprung first?

How much could a guy get if he sold the WE off the Pro?? $2k does seem like a lot to spend but I'd like a better shock. If you could take a big chunk out of that 2k it might be worth it.

The walker Evans on your assault are the same style and quality clicker shocks you can get from exit or raptors, the regular pros come with non adjustable (except preload) walker evans, they have pretty mild valving and yes you can get them revalved properly but you still don't gain clicker adjustability which is nice for different situations.

This is true, I just thought that the conventional wisdom was that the Exits were better than the Assault shocks as well. I don't know, I have never tried Exits, but I would have a hard time swallowing that much money for something that may only be slightly better. Similar to when I shelled out $1000 dollars to have my KTM revalved and resprung by Factory Connection and I couldn't really tell much difference.

Night and day

Maybe not the best comparison but was night and day on my 2010 m8. I had exit 1's and although expensive it was worth it. Especially being a bigger rider. The assault shocks are different so they might work ok with revalve and re sprung? I heard there is a kit for the pro RMK coming from walker for standard width remote resivoir shocks, also heard the price was 1500 plus? Rumor?

Holz and a few other company's can put the assualt ressys and clickers on the stock shocks for pretty cheap.

"Better" is very subjective.

What do you need the shock to do?

How experienced are you at tuning and know what the adjustments do?

What kind of riding do you do? (terrain, speed, load)

A super adjustable shock is actually easier to get out the "sweet spot" than it is to find that sweetspot.

Went riding last night for the first time with the Raptor shocks. About a foot of fluff over tracked up hard pack.

Wow!!!! Ski lift is totally gone. No trenching at all. My sled is a totally different machine. Squishy yet firm. I love it.

I bottomed the rear end out a few times but I am a big guy and need to turn either the preload or the clicker up. I ran the shocks as shipped. Calling Jake at Raptor right now to get instructions and then heading back to the mountain.

Anymore feedback....

What are the major difference between zbroz and raptor? With raptor being a new company, how is the service. For those who bought raptor why did you choose them?

Jake from Raptor is a great guy who will take the time to answer any and all questions you have. I bought raptors for the pro because of how well they work on my m8, and I had evol R's on it before I switched...

Jake is one of the main reasons I went with Raptors. He had no idea who I was before I called and spent 45 minutes with me going over everything, and I mean everything that there is to know. I feel very confident in these and got mine put on today. They are eye candy on these sleds too :face-icon-small-coo

Kevin at kmod spent a ton of time with me explaining the shocks.

I was leaning towards exit before and he convinced me to consider the raptors. Pulled the trigger to try something new. They have more adjustability than exit, they are also lighter. Although if weight is your concern then get the float.

Honestly I think the exit or raptor will treat you right.

Jake has a sickness for his passion for suspension, and it shows. I know first hand he really doesnt have to do what he does to sell these shocks...they simply sell them selves. There are a lot of great shocks out there, but these are a cut above the rest IMO. When you can dial a shock in, know your current terrain, and make changes, front and rear in less than 2 minutes, thats an incredible advantage. Do that with an air shock...i dont think so. Many people will dispute the ride between air and coil also, but again, JMO, but i just dont think they have ever done a side by side honest comparision.

I chose the Raptors because I wanted a high end shock with adjustability. But like others have said the customer service is second to none from Jake. Always takes the time to answer your call or call you back ASAP. It's also nice to get a product that is as advertised, these things flat out work no doubt about it. I have yet to have a person get off my sled and NOT just be blown away by the ride/handling of the Raptor KMOD setup.

Jake at Raptor is awesome. Customer service is top notch. Once in a while a friend convinces me to let them ride my sled, and they can't believe how well it handles. It has made it very difficult for me to ride a stock Pro. Firm yet squishy. On the washed out trails I can sit down while everyone else stands. I snow checked a 163" 2013 and I am swapping the WE's out for Raptors first thing. Second thing is airframe installation.

I read through the forums looking for everyhting on shocks. It seems most riders favor the high end coil overs. It was a split between Exit and Raptors at that point then I called Exit and it was a 6-8 week wait for the front shocks. Then I called Raptor and I spoke to Jake and he had me sold. The Raptors are works of art. I have Fox racing shocks on a pre-runner dodge and a Ford Raptor truck and Jake's Raptor shocks are more refined. Attention to detail on the Raptor shocks is awesome. I even insured them. The guys at my polaris dealership jumped up and down on my sled and could tell a difference in the parking lot.
