Just trying to get to 75 replies so we can be done with this thread! And ya, he's just looking for fuel to add to the fire.

we can do that by calling him names and demeaning his manlyhood.....don't need to actually think we can talk to him about stuff that matters to anyone but him.....

Interesting back and forth here, but how about some real info!

...I talked to Brad Whiting, head of Misson Ridge Ski patrol, yesterday on the phone, regarding the "Damage" to the ski area. I offered to review the footage of the snowmobilers to see if I could identify the culprits. They have 24 hr cameras rolling up there. Brad told me not a big deal.

...the same "Damage" was done at MR by skiers hiking up the mountain, and skiing down, while the mountain was closed on a Tuesday. They tracked up groomed terrain, and when confronted by MR ski patrol, their reply when asked for identification was, "We'll just call up Brad and talk to him!"

...you can see the article on Wenatchee Outdoor, AND see my responce, AND see my offer to a Mr. Robert Mullins to meet with their group, and come to a good working relationship in that ALL user groups are taken into consideration. I left my phone number, and e-mail address....haven't heard ANYTHING, not a word, from ANYONE willing to open up dialouge. I took the first step, and am hearing crickets!!!

...as far as I know, looking at the tracks that were put into the groomed run, I would say that a beginer, with a short track, underpowered, machine was riding up there. PERHAPS someone wanting to add a lil fuel to the fire....Just My opinon...

...and WMC, (can I just call you Robert?),as you can see, I added my contact info for you to reach me, again, just like I did at Wenatchee outdoors. I promised you a good, respectful, thoughtful discussion regarding OUR public lands. The offer is still there. Not only do I ride snowmobiles, but also hold a season's pass to the ridge, Sit on the Greater Wenatchee Bike Advisory Board, Co Chair for the Wenatchee Valley Velo Ominium, and a member of Chelan county Mountain rescue. Along with riding my KTM, and quad....pretty diverse perspective on things....

As an outsider with not a whole lot of knowledge on the area, I think you are correct on trying to identify the culprits. Then crucify them, throw the book at them, whatever, make them an example. I know the penalties for poaching an animal around here are pretty stiff, so why not do the same? Hopefully it'll satisfy the anti sledder crowd pushing for more closures and discourage anyone else with a sled dumb enough to go ride somewhere where they shouldn't be.

the pics, the commentary?!?! STAGED ????

the way the tay guy did this story with all the carefull documentation.

and then WMC piling on so hard....with his wenatchee world trained biitch.

makes one wonder....

also the obviously fabricated story about the old women....lmao...hearing what they said they claimed.... above.... horribly loud snowmobiles..lmao...Rob ..nice

love the pics of "the way THEY got in"...NOT EVEN CONCRETE BLOCKS CAN STOP THEM,......LMAO YOU DUMB ****ER ....NICE MEDIA DRAMA THERE....LMAO

I agree that THIS IS A STAGED EVENT BY WMC ,,,,,A NEW LOW FOR ROBERT MULLINS OF LEAVENWORTH WASHINGTON.

WHO IS NOTHING MORE THAN A HABITUAL LIAR AND SELF SERVED EXTREMIST....

PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE TROLL

Thanks. I sent an email to you after you posted on Wenatchee Outdoors and cc'd WO. Funny, some of the prime folks in CCMR are on our email list so I would have thought as a member you would had received some of the discussions. I just sent another email.

There is no need to invite the bs toward me by being here other than I think that snowmobile riders are mostly ok- some are quite emotional at times. BTW people that matter know what is on these threads so the bla bla is seen and known.

I ride, I rode my snowmobile 25+ miles today and climbed with skis and climbing skins and skied two peaks. Nice bluebird day. No fresh snowmobile tracks, there must not be any users from that group using Blewett- I did not see them (joke/ sarcasm, skiers hear that we are never seen out there...).

Mr Ace, if you are serious there are a lot of serious and prominent folks who would want to have a discussion, as well. Literally all of the non-motorized folks that I know want management so that the uses each have their place- no one is after 'banning' motorized or snowmobile recreation.

There is room in our great Wenatchee Mountains for all of our recreation.

rmk2112 and Christopher- you like the filth here?

Dear Moderator and Christopher,

Do you approve of folks just making pointed personal attacks here meant to cause trouble? I thought Terms of Use required more reasonable dialogue.

People that matter see some of the stuff, very profane, very uncivil. Is that the purpose of Snowest?

Who am I to ask? I ride a snowmobile, today as a matter of fact and have for 30 years. I register here and try to discuss touchy issues but I am not here making personal attacks and speaking foul jr high boy bs like you let fly toward me.

Why am I here? To try to include snowmobile riders in the process. WMC uses the process- we ask the folks in charge to provide for our use. The loudmouths here like to deride our efforts-well, we try to be civil and use the right process, so folks that matter do talk to us, and listen to us. Folks that matter listen to snomo riders and Snowest people as well, when they are not being a**es.

So rmk2112 and Christopher, unless you are proud of the uncivil bs and personal attacks how about some Moderation? Now that rmk2112 does not need to work to 'out' my identity as he did so diligently last year, perhaps he has more time to Moderate.

It was more than groomed runs per this report-

http://www.turns-all-year.com/skiing_snowboarding/trip_reports/index.php?topic=24569.0

As well, apparently no concern about violation of a permanent closure, here on Snowest, just crap flung?

F everybody else, we are gonna' ride? Is that the deal?

I would be down for some banning of this tool. He has been told to stop his antics this same crap on TAY, NWhiker.. They are all sick of him and his message, his taking over of every discussion about land use, his inability to be a part of the discussion, his unwillingless to actually be a part of a dialog.

Ban him, or **** you guys and this ****ing site.

How Ironic it is remembering the bashing a young moderator took a couple years ago for wanting to get rid of this someone and their thread drumming this same garbage??

Everybody wanted to engage with a guy who constantly refers to himself in the third person.

Anybody remember who that young Moderator was?

That's pretty funny after the foul PM you sent me.... I won't stoop to the level of publishing private communication, but wow.

Some contact has been made here with folks who wish to have civil and meaningful dialogue. Good, that is the reason to be here.

In public responsible folk try to maintain some civility, and then work out issues in private. Do not mistake attempt at civility for weakness.

If I do not matter as some argue, I am not sure why some are so excited, and intent on personal attack. But what I discuss is important, we all know that.

There is a process for management of public land, We are deeply involved- yes, we, quite a few locally, more state wide, and some nationally. I am here because in spite of the punk-foul bs I believe that most snowmobile riders are regular folks and worth engaging. I am here to include riders in this, I have described all along what we are after and why, how it affects folks here.

We have wonderful terrain in the Wenatchee Mountains, it is not owned by one group or use, and there is enough room for all of our appropriate uses.

Existing trail and road-based motorized recreation on the Naneum Ridge State Forest is not under question. The DNR officials stated excactly that at the meeting. There is an agreement among State, Federal, and private landowners in the are to maintain 100 miles of previously established "Green Dot Roads" which are also legal for four wheelers.

WMC is interested in asking for winter non-motorized designation on less than three sections of State land contiguous to the Mission Ridge Ski Area in Chelan County. That is, less than 2000 acres of the 131,000-acre Naneum Ridge State Forest . The areas are easily accessed from the Mission Ridge parking lot, 14 miles above Wenatchee. Access is available on the USFS Clara Lake Trail the area has beautiful open forest and also open slopes of all angle suitable for all levels of winter recreation at elevations roughly 4600 ft to 6700 ft.
Rather then try and get other winter users shutdown to these areas...why wouldnt you fight to get better access to areas that are all ready closed to motorized users? would it not provide you with far better areas to recreate without the dreaded motorized users?..I understand that there is no way to put new roads into designated wilderness areas..but surely new roads/paqrking areas could be built to those areas..which acomplishes exactly what you want without sacrificing other users rights..If the time you have wasted fighting to close out other users had been spent on getting access to already closed areas..you would already be enjoying your own non motorized area ...and yes I know there is no funding available thru the govt. for building new access(roads/parking), but thats where as a group you go get corperate sponsors(remember all those executives that non motorized above you bragged about?) and get the corperate world to sponsor the construction cost..that works for everyone...corporations look good, have a great tax writeoff...help their employees with places to excersize(including motorized use), motorized uses dont have even more areas stripped from their use(and it may even reduce incursions by non-law abiding riders), you get your peace and quiet areas without affecting/destroying any other users rights..seems simple to me....and I am sure you have 500 reasons why/how its not possible..but your wrong..its as simple as rechanneling your current negative attacks into a positive useful method that is fair and effective for all....just my opinion....

Thank you, good discussion. Points taken.

There are very few places for the pedestrian to access high-elevation snow here. Indeed, if there was more access to get us close to Wilderness then skiers and snowshoers could use it better. The example above is of a few sections of State Land that has been historically for skiers and snowshoers, very close to the city, great access. Those few Sections are on the edge of the 131, 000 where there is snowmobile riding, and are on the boundary of an operating lift-ski area.

The few-percentage of the total areas that we ask for are not designated for any use- offroad areas. So there is a process with the land managers, and we are involved. I ride a snowmobile, some others in 'our' side ride snowmobiles, we are not anti-snowmobile, just anti-snowmobiles everywhere without limits. And yes, I am the one who tries to include snowmobile riders by coming here.

Our/ my first efforts were to get together and present something to USFS for designating the offroad- worked out between our 'sides.' We would continue to want to do that, there may be an opportunity soon.

WMC- you have lent yourself to be represented as anti snowmobiling. calling names and argumentative speak on here represents the anger over you personnally attacking a popular snowmobile areas and usind anti snowmobile biased tactics to personally attack its users. you constantly speak of all the land that is only for snowmobile. that may resonate with folks at ski only meetings, but is simply untrue in any form.

Thank you AK, that is a brillant point and one the state DNR, US FS, BLM, and private forest owners should think about as one major option to aliviate some of the tensions that land use access has accentuated.

So you are saying that if you disagree with someone's ideas then it is ok to spew disrespectful filth toward that person? Because, you are so correct, or because other folks are not deserving any respect, tolerance, or consideration?

Per the OWNF Talking Points the last of Jan this year (in response to the Wenatchee World article), very little is closed to snowmobiles. Closures include the operating ski areas and the Tronsen NMA at Blewett Sno Park. So our accessible winter non-motorized area at Tronsen is about four sections of land. Busloads of folks come from Puget Sound just to xc ski and snowshoe at Tronsen. I meet folks from Tri Cities, Kittitas Co, Chelan Co as well. Heavily used, a beautiful area of pristine winter recreation, until folks walk the 3 miles up and then are across the District/ County/ NMA Boundary and in snowmobile traffic.

Of course Wilderness is closed to anything motorized, but not accessible. If there were parking from a plowed road, for example, up near Longs Pass, at the head of Bean Basin, etc, pedestrians could actually access the Wilderness for recreation in a few hours or less and we would not be doing all of this...

Recent history shows greater success dealing with DNR to manage motorized uses. The three State/ NRSF-managed sections (640 acres per section) around Mission Ridge Ski Area that we are asking to be non-motorized, out of the 131, 000 acres, would be of huge importance to the winter non-motorized users. BTW gear-industry stats suggest 10 times more regular backcountry snowshoers and skiers (perhaps 50 times more of people owning the gear) than registered snowmobiles in WA...

See, right here you admit that if access could be made to this already designated wilderness area that non motorized users would have a place to recreate without trying to shutoff current motorized access areas..yet rather then work out a mutually benifitial plan with other users(motorized, snow shoers or even other ski/boarder enities) you go right back to the only answer is to close motorized access...
as far as there is 100,000 non motorized users vrs 33,000 motorized users..obviously there isnt..other wise there wouldnt be room for anyone to do anything on any given day..there might be that many peices of gear bought..but I doubt a fraction of it is being used every day/ every weekend all winter long..I know most people buy stuff for a hobby, go a few times then the stuff collects dust in the corner..motorized users are different..when you spend upwards of 100,000 for sleds/gear/truck/trailer..you tend to use the stuff..its just too big of an investment not too..regardless none of it matters if instead of focusing on shutting out other users..you focus on opening areas that users you dont want to recreate around(motorized users in this case), such as wilderness areas by working out a plan to allow better road accesss/parking..simple solution that doesnt invade on anybodies rights, everyone would benifit and you would get what you ultimately want..a non motorized play area in a great location with easy access....so ..how about put up or shut up?..here is a solution that benifits everyone..that I am sure every group involved from motorized, non motorized, from summer to winter enthusist , that BLM, USFS,DNR, every one could all support and work togeather to make happen...
