Do you suppose if WMC had a sister she'd have hairy armpits?
I don't know, there wouldn't be enough land for the both of them...

this gong show is back???
Why are you guys engaging this man?
Just trying to get to 75 replies so we can be done with this thread! And ya, he's just looking for fuel to add to the fire.
Interesting back and forth here, but how about some real info!
...I talked to Brad Whiting, head of Misson Ridge Ski patrol, yesterday on the phone, regarding the "Damage" to the ski area. I offered to review the footage of the snowmobilers to see if I could identify the culprits. They have 24 hr cameras rolling up there. Brad told me not a big deal.
...the same "Damage" was done at MR by skiers hiking up the mountain, and skiing down, while the mountain was closed on a Tuesday. They tracked up groomed terrain, and when confronted by MR ski patrol, their reply when asked for identification was, "We'll just call up Brad and talk to him!"
...you can see the article on Wenatchee Outdoor, AND see my responce, AND see my offer to a Mr. Robert Mullins to meet with their group, and come to a good working relationship in that ALL user groups are taken into consideration. I left my phone number, and e-mail address....haven't heard ANYTHING, not a word, from ANYONE willing to open up dialouge. I took the first step, and am hearing crickets!!!
...as far as I know, looking at the tracks that were put into the groomed run, I would say that a beginer, with a short track, underpowered, machine was riding up there. PERHAPS someone wanting to add a lil fuel to the fire....Just My opinon...

...and WMC, (can I just call you Robert?),as you can see, I added my contact info for you to reach me, again, just like I did at Wenatchee outdoors. I promised you a good, respectful, thoughtful discussion regarding OUR public lands. The offer is still there. Not only do I ride snowmobiles, but also hold a season's pass to the ridge, Sit on the Greater Wenatchee Bike Advisory Board, Co Chair for the Wenatchee Valley Velo Ominium, and a member of Chelan county Mountain rescue. Along with riding my KTM, and quad....pretty diverse perspective on things....

Dear Moderator and Christopher,
Do you approve of folks just making pointed personal attacks here meant to cause trouble? I thought Terms of Use required more reasonable dialogue.
People that matter see some of the stuff, very profane, very uncivil. Is that the purpose of Snowest?
Who am I to ask? I ride a snowmobile, today as a matter of fact and have for 30 years. I register here and try to discuss touchy issues but I am not here making personal attacks and speaking foul jr high boy bs like you let fly toward me.
Why am I here? To try to include snowmobile riders in the process. WMC uses the process- we ask the folks in charge to provide for our use. The loudmouths here like to deride our efforts-well, we try to be civil and use the right process, so folks that matter do talk to us, and listen to us. Folks that matter listen to snomo riders and Snowest people as well, when they are not being a**es.
So rmk2112 and Christopher, unless you are proud of the uncivil bs and personal attacks how about some Moderation? Now that rmk2112 does not need to work to 'out' my identity as he did so diligently last year, perhaps he has more time to Moderate.
his unwillingless to actually be a part of a dialog.
Ban him, or **** you guys and this ****ing site.

That's pretty funny after the foul PM you sent me.... I won't stoop to the level of publishing private communication, but wow.

Rather then try and get other winter users shutdown to these areas...why wouldnt you fight to get better access to areas that are all ready closed to motorized users? would it not provide you with far better areas to recreate without the dreaded motorized users?..I understand that there is no way to put new roads into designated wilderness areas..but surely new roads/paqrking areas could be built to those areas..which acomplishes exactly what you want without sacrificing other users rights..If the time you have wasted fighting to close out other users had been spent on getting access to already closed areas..you would already be enjoying your own non motorized area ...and yes I know there is no funding available thru the govt. for building new access(roads/parking), but thats where as a group you go get corperate sponsors(remember all those executives that non motorized above you bragged about?) and get the corperate world to sponsor the construction cost..that works for everyone...corporations look good, have a great tax writeoff...help their employees with places to excersize(including motorized use), motorized uses dont have even more areas stripped from their use(and it may even reduce incursions by non-law abiding riders), you get your peace and quiet areas without affecting/destroying any other users rights..seems simple to me....and I am sure you have 500 reasons why/how its not possible..but your wrong..its as simple as rechanneling your current negative attacks into a positive useful method that is fair and effective for all....just my opinion....Existing trail and road-based motorized recreation on the Naneum Ridge State Forest is not under question. The DNR officials stated excactly that at the meeting. There is an agreement among State, Federal, and private landowners in the are to maintain 100 miles of previously established "Green Dot Roads" which are also legal for four wheelers.
WMC is interested in asking for winter non-motorized designation on less than three sections of State land contiguous to the Mission Ridge Ski Area in Chelan County. That is, less than 2000 acres of the 131,000-acre Naneum Ridge State Forest . The areas are easily accessed from the Mission Ridge parking lot, 14 miles above Wenatchee. Access is available on the USFS Clara Lake Trail the area has beautiful open forest and also open slopes of all angle suitable for all levels of winter recreation at elevations roughly 4600 ft to 6700 ft.

WMC- you have lent yourself to be represented as anti snowmobiling. calling names and argumentative speak on here represents the anger over you personnally attacking a popular snowmobile areas and usind anti snowmobile biased tactics to personally attack its users. you constantly speak of all the land that is only for snowmobile. that may resonate with folks at ski only meetings, but is simply untrue in any form.
Thank you AK, that is a brillant point and one the state DNR, US FS, BLM, and private forest owners should think about as one major option to aliviate some of the tensions that land use access has accentuated.
Of course Wilderness is closed to anything motorized, but not accessible. If there were parking from a plowed road, for example, up near Longs Pass, at the head of Bean Basin, etc, pedestrians could actually access the Wilderness for recreation in a few hours or less and we would not be doing all of this...
Recent history shows greater success dealing with DNR to manage motorized uses. The three State/ NRSF-managed sections (640 acres per section) around Mission Ridge Ski Area that we are asking to be non-motorized, out of the 131, 000 acres, would be of huge importance to the winter non-motorized users. BTW gear-industry stats suggest 10 times more regular backcountry snowshoers and skiers (perhaps 50 times more of people owning the gear) than registered snowmobiles in WA...
