The F-bomb i know never keeps quiet :) hahaha

Oh Phat one you are mistaken...he speaks what he knows when asked too BUT keeps his yap shut about what he doesn't. I don't like the taste of crow or my smelly feet!

..once again we were in the presence of so much EXPERTISM on the application I just decided to mind my own bidnis.

I don't know if this will be the same with the Pro-RMK plate, but I have their engine plate in '09 RMK and didn't/don't notice any extra vibrations, but I'm light years away from even considering myself an expert. If i remember correctly the Pro plate is machined whereas the plate for the IQ RAW is aluminum plate that's bent, milled, and drilled.

Some questions for ya???

Mark,

Do you have the FTX mount in your sled?

If so, which number of mounts did you go with?

Do you have a current Vibration problem in your sled?

What does Story have to say about it?

.

well

Mark,

Do you have the FTX mount in your sled? Yes i do

If so, which number of mounts did you go with? I added the two extras that they sent

Do you have a current Vibration problem in your sled? the vibration starts about 2500 and goes to about 4500 and then seems to smooth out.

What does Story have to say about it? Well he himmed and hawwed about it. not sure what he thinks about it yet since the pro he did last year didn't really have a problem with blowing belts.

.

Well i am just asking questions right now from guys who put it in. going to hopefully talk to emily about it soon.

Mark,

Did you have your Primary Clutch Balanced/Blueprinted??

If not... see if you can hit up EricW to borrow one of his to see if the problem goes away.

I'm not a expert but a sled engine mount system is kinda like a set of springs in parallel. So, if you have 4 springs in parallel and add 2 more in parallel, it will probably be at least 50% stiffer. Stiffer usually results in more vibes going to places you touch - bars, feet, butt.

Eric does have a couple take offs that have been through Indy Dan. I also have a bunch of cold smoked and rubbed rib eye steaks left over from New Years ready to grill. This should make it a no brainier. Dinner and clutch or just dinner. I know you can eat 2 or more based on history.

Any chance the plate in making contact or touching some where that needs to be relieved. Maybe we could power it up on a stand and pry the engine around a bit and see what happens?

Where's all the dam experts when I'm Having an issue, I have to cook up steaks just to give parts away. Sheeeeesh. EW

FYI, I chatted with Mark the other day... didn't realize he had a thread on here...

I've had a few rides in with it installed and have NOT noticed extra vibration... I did however let Mark know that my sled ALWAYS had a crazy vibration at low idle.... i would notice it when rolling down the single track coming off the mtn, off the throttle... so nothing else going on with the sled or my focus and it was SUPER apparent. I talked to a lot of people about it cause I was super nervous about it but was told that's just the way the Pro is... I've felt it on a few other Pro's I've hopped on too... I DIDN'T notice it once I had the motorplate in and I'm hoping that motor plate might actually help tone it down a little bit but it can't get rid of it all the way...

My guess was that's what Mark was feeling?? Mark, hop on a few stock pro's and see if they're doing it. I didn't notice it on EVERY one I rode but I did feel it on quite a few. Something about the motor harmonics and the way the chassis ties into it... but i am FAR from expert on that stuff... just know what i've felt on a bunch of other sleds over the past season...

You sure its not that 3" track? I hear they vibrate like... well nevermind :face-icon-small-sho

My stock pro (other than timbersled skid, zbros shocks n arms) vibrates worse than the cats ive owned (including boosted ones).

I have to agree with Phatty on this one Mark. Jump on Em's or another Pro that isn't running the 3" and see what you think. My M1000 with the 3" has a "harmonics" spot that developed after the 3" install, but you power right through it and it goes away until about 85 mph track speeds.

well from listening to guys who are actually helpful, i have come to think that it has to do with several things on the sled. the track is some of it. the drivers which are not exactly round is some of it and polaris having a sled that has a vibration is some of it. im guessing that i will live with it since i do like the sled alot.

i wouldn't doubt if it adds to soem bar and foot vibrations as the engine is more solid. Back when i had my 900 it had a noticable increase in vibrations when i changed the engine mounts and added a torque arm.

There is nothing wrong with this engine mount, seen it in person installed in several sleds that make WAY more power than most of ours and if they aren't having any issues, why would we? BTW, its a shame that such a peice of art is covered up and never seen....:face-icon-small-dis

Well I tried really hard to keep him from that motor plate by STEALING IT! But he made me give it up which I thought was pretty horrible on his part after "giving" it too me! BOOoooooOOOOOoooo There is an inappropriate native American term for people like you

Anthony Oberti says "The PRO does not vibrate...you must be a bad snow mo biler....do you want to feel my muscles?"

IE Rob the expert says MARK RELAX IT'S FINE
