im up here riding and sled seems to be running good however, the factory gauge cluster is giving me the OCTN code witch is low octane but that is impossible as im running 7 pounds at 9500 feet with 6 gallons of AV and 3-4 of pump in the tank.

also what worries me alot more is if i am on and off the gas and dont hold it wide open for more than a cuple seconds it usually dosent do it, but if i hammer it for a lil while it throughs the ECO 21 code wich is knock sensor failure and that obviously really bothers me.

seems to be running good otherwise 7lbs 9500 feet intercooled with av.
boondocker kit BTW with EBC

y would it be doing this and any suggestions

What is your recorded injector duty cycle, charge temp and boost hitting in the "stats" menu on your BD box when this problem occurs? What are your EGT's reading under boost? As cold as it is 7lbs might be all you can run without aux. injectors to add more fuel.

I would drain that out and try some 110 race fuel at the same mix rate. I doubt both sensors are giving false readings.

I had the same problem when I was tuning the nitrous on my M8. I got ECU code 21. I thought my det. sensor had failed because that is what the code reads, swapped out sensors and still had the code, so I figured the sensor was fine. I mixed 50/50 pump and 110 race gas, still detonating, finally I drained the gas and ran straight 110. Detonation finally subsided.

I checked and I did have the injectors maxed out at one point. I reduced the duty cycle to 90% and AFR actually got richer.

wow.

At 9500 feet, with only 7 lbs of boost you shouldn't even need ANY race or av gas. I don't see how both systems are failing though... seems odd. at 10k+ we run 15psi (09 with 09 head) on 2.5 gal of 114 or 116 (whatever the highest that Bandimere sells I buy, not sure) per tank. The mix you're running is WAY overdone. Something else is wrong.

Time to buy some updates.:face-icon-small-dis

what kind of rpm's are you hitting mine was over revving my first ride and throwing the those codes added some weight and went away. Runs perfect now 10psi on av

What year sled are you running? I know the 2010-11 have a higher compression than the 07-09. Maybe that's the difference.

I don't even know why we respond to questions that don't list the sled year when the kit was bought you know all the basic info so we know what we are dealing with. we're all addicts I guess. or just pissing up wind. The EBC has a update too.

Sorry everyone. . Its. A 10with 09 head. 60 miles. Injectors said. 63 in 92 out witch isn't right I don't think not for 6.5 pounds intercooled and rpm was only 7900 ish.
Kit is brand new and proffesionaly installed and tuned last spring sat all summer till now first ride on it for me. Ill ask boondocker obviously but its t day and no one is around

On a side note if I only pinned it for a sec or 2 it would throw any codes but like 5 secs and up I would get the octane one alot and if I made like a 7 second and up ut would give me the eco 21but only if it was working real hard. Snow was hella. Deep and still - 7 today

My dealer had one with the same issue and you need the new wiring harness, they said the power source was not the best one and at times it would run out of power, at least enough to run lean on fuel. They also have a updated fuel pump setup that sounds much better, oh and lets not forget the EBC reflash, Welcome to the world of BD.

id make sure your not leaking air somewhere crank seal you might have bad fuel water in the fuel id try draining the fuel and run 91 with 2 gal of 110 and maybe just add a little oil in the tank for good measure and ride it running that much race at the boost presure might have something to do with it it changes the burn quite a bit thats where id start and of course call BD i here there great guys and will take the time to talk to you do you have the ebc

Is the gas fresh, or is it several months old? On the second ride on my 09, code 21 came up and I was running 2 gals of 112 with the rest 91. First thing I did was drain the tank. Put in fresh fuel and never got the code again. I put the fuel from my sled in my jeep and 10 miles later the check engine light came on. I guarantee it was bad gas as I had never had the light on my jeep until then. I had just filled up with the 91 the night before, no idea how old the gas at the station was. Drain the gas and start fresh.

It could be a pluming issue with the pump. Sometimes these professional in stallers can't fallow BD instructions. If you ride close to Colorado on any of your trips its worth a trip to Kremmling Co. Call Alpine Motor Sports talk to Erik Woog. He can make it run right no question.
