ferny BC

hey im new here and havnt been to the mountains yet, me and my dad are planning a trip out to ferny, and im just wondering how i should set both of our sleds up, Dads is a 2006 polaris switchback 600 everything stock except a can, and i have a 440 iq stock. tks

If your going to ferny i would suggest renting sleds, as a 440 and a 600 wont go very far in the deep snow.

Your 440 and 600 will do just fine. I've ridden Fernie for 10 years and the snow is very unpredictable it seems. Get a big dump, then it all melts or blows away.

Maybe take some smaller main jets. Alot of Fernie is fairly low though so maybe go on google earth and see what the elevations are compared to where you are set up for.

for your frist trip it will be fine , you did not say where you were from?
my first trip out was on a 500 indy with a 1.5"track and at that tim i could hit the trails and follow the 600 xlt's i went with, you will at least know what you will be getting in to. as for jetting and clutching i am from southern sask and i have rode there with just a weight change on a 2002 700rmk .
