Your gonna lose 10 lbs of ice and snow; just on the drop brackets alone!! I'm thinking of just doing some 90 degree 1/8" aluminum right over top of the old drop brackets after the gussets are removed... That would get rid of 2 big ice chunks!!

I welded two 1/4" side plates to a bent 1/8" center piece that hits the two outside rivets.

If i was just using a piece of angle I think 1/4" would be required.
After the gussets are cut off the stock drop brackets and the tunnel is cut up 2" you can see just how weak the remains are.

Hi! Nice work! How about some riding experiences?

One other thing. Is the rear mounting hole at the same position as i were as stock?

As I said in the first post.

This is a buddies sled, i have ridden with him once and he really likes the sled.

However his last sled was a dragon and he never rode this sled with stock boards.

I haven't stopped shredding around on my axys long enough to want to ride his pro.

I'll try it out and compare to another similar pro soon.

There it is.

We are getting a lot of snow up north so the sleds should get a workout. :)

Ok!

Nice too have that amount of snow! We havent got anything like that here in SWEDEN.

Still want to know if the skid rear mounting hole is at the same location as it were with the stock boards?

Happy sleding.

It is in the same spot. But the running boards are raised which make the drop down longer

SMF....

Wondering if you/friend has any longer term impressions of these raised boards?

They worked just like you might think they would.
Lets you stick to a sidehill better without washing out from the running boards pushing you off the hill.

Sled blew up 2 rides later. (Like all 2011 pro’s)

I bought it later that next summer when he broke his leg and needed money.
Rebuilt it and sold it.

Someone running around alaska has it.

Sheetmetalfab, can you share a drawing with dimensions of the overlays you fabbed?

The point of the elevated boards is to keep them out of the snow... for one... which yours will do better than stock when trenching to a degree.
