EVERYONE WITH A PRO AND WARRANTY MUST READ!

Polaris warranty is garbage. I own both a 2013 and 2011 pro, the 11 went down with a cracked cylinder skirt at 1100miles leaving me to fight with them (polaris star) for a new motor, (let me remind you this 11 is bone stock) once the new motor was finaly installed(brand new long block) It made it for a measly 400miles and goes down again. This time it seized the rod bearing on the mag side so they replaced the crank, the pistons, and the oil pump. I get a phone call telling me that they found the problem and submitted it to warranty, polaris star accepted it and said i have hit my "dollar amount" (which I have never heard of this before) on my warranty so this is the last time they will warranty this sled even though it has a year and a half left on the 4 year warranty. As the dealer was putting it together they discovered it had a cracked case due to the slop in the rod coming down and touching the case. Polaris says they aren't going to warranty the case because I have used once again my "dollar amount" leaving me to pick up the $800 tab on that case. Well after arguing with the dealer and reminding him it was a brandnew motor with 400miles on it and I should not have to pay s***t he somehow got the case warrantied, but told me this is it I now have no more warranty on that sled......POLARIS YOU CAN KISS MY ***which sucks because I love my 13

Sorry to hear your bad luck.............:face-icon-small-sad

What is the actual "dollar amount" if you don't mind me asking???

Thanks,

Glen

Glen, they wouldn't actually give me a dollar amount number but the first repair bill was $4900(somewhere around there) and the second was around $2800 before the bad case they also had to warranty the recoil and a few other misc little items so I'm guessing they are saying $8000

bxt:

Sorry to hear about the "hose job". This outfit(Poo) sure wants to keep it's customer base hanging on the edge. Hope your '13 treats you right and stays out of any major warranty issues.

One would think this dealer would stand up for their customers, but they just say it's out of thier hands due to the fact that polaris uses a 3rd party warranty company I went rounds with this warranty company last year to get the first motor warranties, it's amazing what a formal letter from a lawyer will do

I think if I were in your shoes I'd be reading the warranty paperwork I was given with a magnifying glass(or microscope in this case) & if there is no mention of this said "dollar amount" I'd be having "words" with some people, starting with the dealer.............

Good luck & let us know how it goes,

Glen

Just dug out my paper work, everyone needs to be aware of this often times we don't read the small print well here it is

Polaris star warranty- General Provisions 5. Limits of Liability

a. Single claim: THIS IS WHAT IT READS... In no event shall our liability exceed the NADA current value of the vehicle immediatley prior to the breakdown. Furthermore, in no event shall our liability exceed the cost necessary to correct the actual cause of the breakdown.

I'm sure there is more on this, but this all I found so far....MAKE SURE YOU READ YOUR WARRANTY PAPER WORK, just when you think you are covered in that 4 year warranty...think again

Thank YOU for this very usefull bit of info!

I'm sure this news will be very disconcerting for many others but something well worth pointing out & making others aware of.................:face-icon-small-dis

first off that sucks ! sorry man

the warranty to me reads: no single event/repair can cost more than the vehicles worth (like totaling a car) BUT ! that should apply to each situation individually. right ?

this crap all comes down to your dealer you gotta have a good one or your screwed:face-icon-small-dis

Warranty usually will not exceed the MSRP of the sled. I encountered this issue on my 2010 m8. I had 5 year bumper to bumper.

I got to experience the fine print on an aftermarket vehicle warranty. Repairs on that POS exceeded the value of the vehicle at which point my warranty was voided even though I still had 14 months left on the calendar. Fixed it 1 last time and dumped it the next day.

I have owned a lot of new sleds, and have had my share of warranty claims. I just can not believe that polaris wouldn't stand by their product, especially when the second motor was a brand new out of the crate drop in motor that only lasted a measly 400 miles. This sled had brand new clutches(not covered under warranty) a brand new engine including reeds, injectors, and oil pump, a brand new replacement recoil, and now another brand new engine all in 1600 miles or so....at some point polaris needs to step in and say hey maybe there was a flaw in that last motor and we will take care of that so it does not affect your warranty....just really not happy about the whole deal

I hate fighting to not be screwed on something I'm entitled to.
Crappy situation for sure hope you get some resolution. Maybe escalate it. And if the dealer isn't going to bat for you, sounds like you spend some coin there, pick a couple nice Saturdays when they're real busy and park across the stree with a billboard on your sleds telling everyone who drives by or inthe dealer wut d bags they are!
